Strictly Gangsta Rap!!! Proud of this Album!!,
This review is from: Before I Self Destruct (Audio CD)
i have waiting a long time for this album, but some cuts like baby by me, made me insecure that i was expecting of the album, but i would take it anyway, but we cannot judge a album for 1 song, then when crime wave came to the light i was Hell Yeah this hit hard, but in a few words to not making too long this is THE BEST ALBUM OF 2009 its extremely gangsta lyrics and production theres only like RnB 2-3 songs but these are not so bad, Before I Self Destruct is so different in the good way, comparing to these days corny hip hop and with an A-list of infinite guest rappers use in his albums (these albums better call for example "Jay-Z and Friends present The Blueprint 3"), 50 with Em in one Song in his Album its ENOUGH for it, and the production its extremely good even than the only A-List producer is Dre in 3 songs the and rest is at the same quality with not A-list producers, for last i have to say I am very proud of this album FINALY some Gangsta Rap to the media.

I think that this is a very good CD, everyone expect him to make another Get Rich or Die Tryin. That can't be done anymore, move on people stop comparing his work. 50 is one of the best Rap Artist alive right now. BFISD is hot, this CD proves that he still have what it takes to be number one. It is worth every dollar. Keep making your fans happy.

The Begining to Get Rich,

This is by far 50 Cent most personal project. If there was anything else you wanted to know about 50 it is answered in this CD. Before I Self Destruct was created in the same vein as Get Rich or Die Trying. Its not the same as Get Rich, so critics should not compare the 2. BISD is the only project to date that have the same vibe as Get Rich. 50 is taking it back to when he was hungry and just sign the deal. This is 50 in his purest form! No matter how much you hate him, you can't help but to love him. If anybody turn their back with 50 music, BISD will make you will go back to him!
Honorable Mentions Track 1 to Track 16 The CD is that nice Let the haters hate but 50 Cent will have another Platinum Plat to add with the rest of his Albums! The movie is the epitome to the Albumn !

Rap album of the year. Right off the bat he let's you no what your about to hear. (1....1..2...GRRRRR!!) 50's back and this album will most likely get him his first grammy, ironic i no, he lowest selling his best album. Put the cd in press play, repeat and just sit back enjoy the ride. The movie is also solid for his first directorial debut not to shabby.

"Be a millionaire",

I was so excited to listen to 50 Cent's "Before I Self Destruct" because I had just seen his movie, "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and listening to a lot of his music because my iPod's shuffle mode loves to surprise me with 50 Cent songs. You may think that I was let down because I gave this LP 3 stars and while I was expecting more, I still like the release as a whole. What I dislike most about 50 is that he will not branch out and work with other producers. I am not a fan of Dr. Dre's beats. I realize that he and Dre are close friends and that 50 is in his comfort zone working with him, but his music could be so much better if he worked with a better producer.
This album is lengthy; 16 tracks. It took me some time to listen to the entire work, but I never have a problem with lengthy albums because it means the artist gave you your moneys worth. Most of the tracks are mid-tempo. Out of the 16 tracks, only two stood out: "Psycho" and "Baby By Me." Those tracks are fantastic; 50 really did well. "Psycho" features one of the best to ever do it, Eminem, and together they made magic, even atop of a Dr. Dre beat. "Baby By Me" is 100% radio friendly. This song features Neyo and they both do a fine job. The beat is hot, too! In "So Disrespectful", he talks about Jay-Z, The Game and Young Buck. I like the track. I recommend this album to fans of 50 Cent for it is not bad, it's just not his best work. His lyrics are still great and basically he's still the same 50 that we know and love. Mikeisha's Top 5 1. "Baby By Me" 2. "So Disrespectful" 3. "Psycho" 4. "Do You Think About Me" 5. "Stretch"

I thought when the single dropped "baby by me", that this album was gonna be some ole bubble gum, its ur bday, for the club type tunes, but seems like that's the only song that doesn't belong on this joint. Thats the reason for the 4 star and not the 5 star rating. Guess he needed at least 1, maybe 2 for the radio. The rest is classic 50. It took me back to the first joint, mix tape 50. Don't listen to it around your kids, and a clean version wouldn't be clean enuff, but its guttah. i likes. 'Strong Enuff' is my fav. when your driving alone in your car, roll your windows up and bang it.

Back to the Get Rich or Die Formula..,

Great return to what people want and expect of 50. Since there are already tons of reviews, Ill keep it short. If you can find or get the 3 disc version...WOW, what a deal. Both Movies and the music are 50 returning to the formula that works...hardcore! A few misteps in production aside, the overall album is a great listen and full of energy and witty wordplay.

Movie Review - Before I Self Destruct,
By
This review is from: Before I Self Destruct (Audio CD)
Before I Self Destruct (2009) is an uncompromising view of life in the inner-city that focuses on how things can change without warning. When that happens, you can be forced into making decisions that alter your path and the life of those around you. The story is told from the view of Clarence (Curtis Jackson), who also adds insightful narrative of his thoughts and past throughout the film.
Clarence and Shocka (Elijah Williams) are nurtured and loved by their hardworking single mother. Shocka is gifted academically and excelling in school while Clarence works at the grocery store after his future as a talented basketball player was shattered when he was injured on the court. Coming home one evening Clarence walks by the scene of a shooting without much thought, that is, until the police come to the door with the news that their mother was killed during a shooting. Life gets even harder when Clarence comes home to find an eviction notice the same night he is fired from his job for stealing food to feed his little brother. After committing an act that opens the door to an illegal life he starts working for Sean (Clifton Powell) as an enforcer. He enforces Sean's enterprise and the code of the streets with deadly force. Shocka's life keeps getting better because Clarence shields him from everything. He is a positive role model at home and keeps Shocka on the right path. As Shocka asks... How long can this continue? 7 out of 10 - Rated R - Overall it is a powerful and thoughtful film that will leave a lasting impression on you. A few hilarious moments are thrown in to offset some of the seriousness. The acting is pretty simple and mostly holds true to the story and life, although a few of the lines from non-lead actors come across unnatural and forced at times. The cinematography was great; making many powerful scenes when combined with the music. I felt some of the sexual encounters where a bit over the top and not needed. Certainly worth the watch.
