4.0 out of 5 stars Old School D-metal fun, June 7, 2008
I like this CD. The cover gave me the same feeling that Suffocation's Pierced From Within did. A couple of things are annoying though---the bass bombs and the repetitive "let's slow down the same riff and repeat"

But aside from that, the vocal delivery is great, nice guttural growls, screeches, and gang vocals.

Fun CD. If you are Death Metal fan who can deal with a less technical sound, no insane speed, then pick it up.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!, May 22, 2008
this cd is absolutely incredible. every song is excellent and ryan's vocals are perfect with every track. if i could listen to this cd 24 hours a day i definitely would but sadly there's something called sleep and school. i would recommend this cd to everyone. i think it's probably their best cd yet!

2.0 out of 5 stars What's the big deal?, September 17, 2008
I've listened to these guys because I kept hearing about them. I don't see what's so special about them. They sound like Bullet for My Valentine except even more emo-ish. There are some catchy songs. I enjoyed "Go West Young Man" and "If I Could Be Frank, You're Ugly" but other than those few songs, this album really isn't anything special.

And I have to say, in response to a previous review, no, if you like Death Metal then you should stay away from this. This isn't even remotely Death Metal.

Despite there being catchy tracks, I never fully enjoyed an entire track on this album. What I mean is, they managed to completely ruin the end of "Go West Young Man" by adding some really fruity verses that just took me out of it. Just stupid things like that really break this album on the decent tracks.

I will say, the production on this album is actually very nice. The drumming is loud and sounds great. If the songs weren't written so poorly, it would've been really nice.

One last thing I want to point out. The trendy long-but-has-nothing-to-do-with-the-song track titles should be a red flag as to how good this album is. There are only two bands that pulled that off properly and that's Norma Jean and The Chariot. These tracks make the band sound just immature. I mean, "If We're Going Out, Let's Go Out In Style"? For god's sake, a fourth grader could have come up with something better.
