More About the Author

I love to write books and produce audio programs and I think you'll love reading or listening to them. My style has been dubbed as "reader friendly" meaning you'll feel like we're sitting down for lunch having a conversation with each other. Or as my college students put it: "We know your books aren't ghost written Dr. Rosenthal. They are lively, humorous, and sound just like you in class."

I don't believe that education needs to be dry, dull, or boring and my materials go on to prove it. I receive e-mails also daily from counselors thanking me for helping them to secure the credentials they need to practice their craft. It's the greatest feeling in the world.

Several of my works allow you to step into the offices of the finest therapists in the world as they reveal the intricacies of their favorite counseling and therapy techniques, strategies, or homework assignments.

You can use my materials to help others by helping yourself. It's really that simple!

Have a great day.

Dr. Howard Rosenthal

This review is from: Before You See Your First Client: 55 Things Counselors, Therapists and Human Service Workers Need to Know (Paperback)
Having a fledgling private practice I was interested to get this book. It is informative, however it does have a bit of a negative tone. That is, don't do this, don't do that, don't expect this, when you do this don't expect that to happen.

Again, I'm glad I read it and will reference it again, it just felt like it could had some more positives in it.

A book I highly recommend for clinicians is The Gift of Therapy: An Open Letter to a New Generation of Therapists and Their Patients by Yalom
