This book is not only well written, but it is Life Changing. It made me look at my faith and see if i was really such a good Christian, if i was willing to die for my belief. This book if too awesome to pass by, and i can't say enough praise, he was led by the spirit to write it.

The Beggar King was an excellent allegory on the relationship which Christ seeks with individuals and with his church. Very straight forward and simple it is a great way to show young readers a strong spiritual story.

A simple beggar comes along and to those who listen to him, he grants miracles and hope. He gives them an unconditional love which all of them are seeking, even when they didn't know they were looking for it. All he asks of them is for them to show that same love to each other. The book addressed big issues which define faith: money, trust, inter-personal relationships, persecution, doubt; and all of this in language and concepts which children can understand and appreciate. I know it helped to define my own faith.

This is one of my favorite books. It is a gentle story of God's redemptive work in an evil place. The place does not seem too far removed from our world today, but it is just far enough away to retain its presentation as a tale.
