This review is from: To Begin With, God Created...: Biblical Theologies of Creation (Paperback)
To Begin with, God Created; Biblical Theologies of Creation, by Karl Loning and Erich Zenger, is "an attempt to bring the parts of the divided yet unified Christian bible into dialogue with one another in respect to the theology of Creation." Unlike most books on creation, this one focuses on the New Testament texts and there relevance to the theology of creation, and spends little time with Genesis. When it does deal with the Genesis creations story in the early chapters, it treats it as being similar to other Ancient Near Eastern mythologies, with only minor differences. The scant New Testament creation verses are over analyzed, filling most of the 190 pages. This book was so mind-numbing to read, and I still am not sure of its point. But, hey, you have got to love the title.
