I got this item just a few days ago and gave it to my brother-in-law for an early christmas present. My sister says he loves it and is makeing lures by the handfulls which will save him hundreds of dollars over the next 5 years on lures. He messed up a few to start but after getting the hang of it he's having a blast. Good gift for the avid fisher.

Rip Lips Fishing supplied this kit for Amazon, I ordered the kit for a christmas present 2 weeks prior to Christmas, Part of the kit arrived 3 days after Christmas, and the remaining parts (tools) arrived the 12th of January. No prior notice of a partial shipment until the first package arrived, I have asked for a refund 3 times and they just blow you off... I will never order from them again and hope you wont either.

Ordered this particular product for Christmas...when I ordered, it was promised by Dec. 7th, still have not recieved the entire package and it's New Year's Eve. Did get part of the package the day after Christmas. I feel like I was duped.

Let me say that this is a positive review. I ordered this kit so that I would have it by Christmas. Only the materials came in without the hardware. A note was included that it was not the fault of the seller and that they ran out of the hardware. New hardware would be in the first week of January. I wrote a review on January 7th and still had not gotten the hardware. I then heard from the seller and the tone indicated they were not happy with the review. I only gave the facts to that point and said so in a return email. Today January 10th the mail delivered the rest of my order.
Bottom Line:
This is a great kit for beginners. It has everything I could want to start out tying flies. I am joining a local fly tying club this month. I would highly recommend getting this kit. Plus, it comes with a nice nylon case to keep the hardware organized. I would recommend that the seller be more organized and prepared for special season where sales would be higher like the up coming summer months so that they would not run out of stock. I would expect that lots of people will buy this product because it is a great value for the price. The DVD leaves a lot to be desired. I was hoping for a basic fly tying instructions and guidelines on how to use each piece of hardware. The DVD is only how to tie several flies. If you've never tied before, you are left not knowing how to use much of the hardware. I guess youtube.com is where we can learn that.

Don't misunderstand me, if I had to decided again, I would buy this product all over again. It's worth it!!!
