• You’ll learn to read Tab.
• You’ll learn E, A, D, C and G major. E minor, A minor and D minor. E7, A7, D7, C7, G7 and B7 as well as F major 7.
• How to play along with the backing tracks available free from
• Suggested “real” songs to listen to and learn- all matched to your level of progression.

How Big Are the Books?
A common complaint among purchasers of “How to...” eBooks is that the description didn’t really give them a clear idea of how big the books were and they are invariably disappointed.
This book is around 5000 words (plus many music exercises) or roughly 60-70 pages when formatted in Word.

Who are you?
I am a musician and teacher. Much of my music book writing knowledge was gained when I wrote a syllabus for my Professional Musicianship degree. I learned even more about teaching during my many years as a fulltime music theory, guitar, bass and drum teacher. I no longer teach fulltime as I’m working more as a musician but I continue to learn from the awesome musicians I meet!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Informative, Easy To Understand, Five Stars! January 17, 2012
By Darbji
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed reading this book. Very simple and easy to understand. I started teaching myself with no foundation whatsoever. I knew a few songs and chords but was feeling overwhelmed by the how complex learning to play was sounding to me. This book put all that in prospective for me and gave me a good solid structure to build from. I no longer feel stressed and discouraged about learning. You will learn all the "getting started" subjects like anatomy of a guitar, how to read tab, tuning and so on. The exercises are perfect for learning quickly. Also I love how it suggests a list of songs from different genres that are easy for beginners to play and are made up of the chords you have already learned. I was ready to give up teaching myself before this book and now I have a new outlook and feel very encouraged. Since finishing this book, I have started on book 2 and will most definitely finish up with the third. THANKS ALOT TO THE AUTHOR! FIVE STARS!

1.0 out of 5 stars Magnifying glass material August 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought all of the Strings series books for guitar (5 in total). Unfortunately, I returned them all within the hour due to not being able to read the text. Forget reading them on a Kindle; it's nearly impossible, unless you have x-ray vision or have a magnifying glass (not very practical when you're travelling, plus it doesn't look cool if you're a musician reading a Kindle with a magnifying glass). It was horrible to read. The developers didn't test these books before they went to Kindle; not good when you're trying to market them on Amazon. I take my Kindle to lessons with my students, so presenting them with this would be ridiculous. On my PC, they format fine, but forget the Kindle version. It sucks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good approach February 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
One of the only books I found that talks about "Tabs" which are all over the Internet, and may as well be discussed, even if they aren't the traditional way of learning guitar.

I am still learning so its not made me an overnight rock star but I like the format and the audio tracks for chord changes are fantastic.
Once I am more confident with the material I will definitely buy the next in the series.

More About the Author

Hi welcome to my author profile. I'm Mike Taylor and I work as a guitar player and teacher after completing a BA Hons in Professional Musicianship.

In my career I've been lucky enough to be teach, be taught by and perform with some awesome musicians and personalities which have shaped my teaching and playing style.

As a largely self taught musician I do realise that private music lessons aren't for everybody- be it time, money or personality. By using the Kindle format I'm really hoping I can help you develop in a pace and style that suits you.

I'm really keen to hear from you musicians out there so please feel free to get in touch- if only just to say hi.

Thanks and enjoy your music!

Mike Taylor
