Decent for beginner but get better one for long term investment,

I recently decided to learn guitar and thought about teaching myself at home. Bought this guitar through Amazon.com after looking at some decent reviews on it and saw that the price is unbeatable. I like the fact that it is small and lightweight, and that it comes with a set of accessories, but I found it hard to tune. I would play a song that would sound 'right' going up the scale but sound 'off' going down the scale. I decided to take a class a month ago, and last week, my instructor tried to tune my guitar, and he said the guitar has an 'intonation' issue, which means that the guitar just wouldn't tune on chords even if the individual strings are in tune. I suspect there are problems with the frets markings. Overall, since I am pretty tolerant and big on cheap bargains, I would say this item is an okay bargain, and if you are unsure about pursuing guitar but need an instrument to try out, then you may want to get this. I was able to play melody ('Amazing Grace','Star Spangled Banner', etc) just fine. It will probably start giving me issues once I start playing chords. But if you are serious about playing guitar, get a better one, this one is a no go.

Great for Beginners; Good Quality/Excellent Price,

This guitar is very good, is very solidly made. The extras are the perfect starter kit; come in handy, last for a great while since the guitar is well made I have no need to replace strings. I have had it for 5 months now and it has been a good instrument to me; the guitar keeps up with my rough novice handling; bumps against walls and doorways, and it remains steardy. The color its beautiful, I name it (indeed I did) Luna de Octubre - Octuber Moon.

I wanted an acoustic guitar along with my electric guitars yet Im not too enthusiastic about acoustic so I didnt wanna spend alot of money for one. What a mistake to take the chances with this esp after reading so many other bad reviews. This extremely cheap feelin guitar cant even play right no matter how much time you spend tuning it. The strings are not only incapable of being tuned but are too far off the fret board! This can literally not be played. I actually gave this to my young cousin as a toy basically and I think its broke by now. Not cause of him but how could a guitar like this last in anyones hands? The only thing I kept was the non-electric tuner that came with it, which is also a lil crappy. Buying this is throwing money down the toilet...money that you COULD use toward buying a real guitar.

I ordered the guitar for my son for Christmas and he loves it. It has great sound and is great for beginers and advanced players. It came with everything you need to get started accept for guitar tabs and music sheets, which you can find online. This was his favorite Christmas gift. The price was great too.Thank You So Much, Amber Allen

Horrible investment,
This review is from: Beginner 38 Inch Blue Acoustic Guitar with Gig Bag and Accessories (Toy)
I got this guitar for 30$ a while back, and really, what quality could I expect? They even nicked it up to 100$, a complete ripoff. Why? Well, this guitar is an abomination. Horribly made, when I received it, I immediately noticed some problems. Huge scratches and dents, a horrible and sloppy paint job on the frets, and several broken strings. It comes with a low quality pick, a pitchpipe(which is actually pretty useful, but the guitar is near impossible to tune) the Gig Bag(not really that bad, as a matter of fact) and some..mints?(Strange advertising, but probably the best thing in the package.)Perhaps you could buy it and put it on displ- oh wait, it's so beat up when you get it it would make wherever you put it a lot worse.

Do NOT buy this guitar!!! I was not concerned with quality when I bought this inexpensive guitar, but when I recieved it I found that it was impossible to get everything in tune.Something is not right about the spacing between the frets and/or the bridge, so when each individual string is in tune, if you play a chord it is WAY out of tune. I tried the other way, too--tuning it to play one chord. When I switched to a different chord, say, from C to D, that chord was not in tune at all. If you are looking for a basic, cheap guitar, my advice is to go to a guitar store and play it yourself before you buy it. That way, you will not have to pay $16 in return shipping like I did, and you will save yourself a lot of trouble.

Yay,

So i bought this guitar a few weeks ago and it shipped really fast. it came with the guitar its self (mine was green), guitar picks, extra strings, a strap, a bag, and a tuner (like a harmonica) it looked really nice when i took it out of the box...then i took a closer look...there were knots all over it, there was a scratch on the back of it, and it look like a 3rd grade art project, the inside was broken up as well...it doesn't really bother me that much now because i got it so cheap and it sounds beautiful, i just hope it lasts me along time, over all i give this product a 4 out of 5 mainly because these problems were not major and i was happy with the price

This is without a doubt a cheaply built guitar. You get what you pay for. I have been looking forward to getting a guitar for month's last year. My dream came true on Christmas and I got this guitar. The high e string snapped off when trying to get it perfectly in tune. it would not go past g#. I had to replace the string twice. When guitar class started I started to notice more flaws. Because of problems with high e string I could not keep up. After class that day I had my friend, who has been playing for eight years examine it. He said it has an intonation problem, which means even if the strings are perfectly in tune certain chords will sound out of tune. Intonation was off on all the strings. There was a lot of stain on the frets. The distance between frets was uneven across the board. In addition the sound hole had glue showing inside. Futhermore there was tear on the paint. Moreover the bag was very wrinkled and poorly designed. On a positive note it came with spare strings. Another thing I liked was the color. I do not recommend this guitar to anyone who wants to learn how to play.

Purchased this guitar for my daughter for Christmas. It was not tuned. Which was not a big deal, just thought I could take it to a music shop and buy an electric tuner or have them tune it. Was told by the store the guitars neck was bent and would never work right and could not be fixed. Purchased her another from that store. So what started out at like a $5o gift ended up costing me $200. Not very HAPPY!!!!!!!

I thought this was a great guitar until i got it. When it fell once on the ground it had many marks on it. It would go out of tune fast. The strings broke easily. The picks were destroyed in just a month. And the strap was almost useless. The pitch tuner was off tune. And it came with only 2 picks. The worst was that after a months use the bottom of the bag ripped in half so it was useless.
