5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for beginners in Documentum, August 12, 2005

This review is from: A Beginner's Guide to Developing Documentum® Desktop Applications: Techniques and Solutions Using Visual Basic® and the DFC (Paperback)
This is book covers all the basics regarding Documentum. All the information you need regarding Documentum, it's structure, and most importantly, how to do something with everything one can store in Documentum.

I noticed one review was upset that the author uses VB to show how to get more out of Documentum. This is not a problem in my opinion since anyone will be able to adapt their individual expertise with the information contained in this book. If you know .NET, you will be able to use .NET. Same goes for Java, DocBasic and Visual Basic.

In a nutshell, this book is great to help someone familiarize themselves with the ins-and-outs of Documentum. Great book. It helped me on my job.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Beginner's Guide to Developing Documentum Desktop Applications, June 3, 2009
This review is from: A Beginner's Guide to Developing Documentum® Desktop Applications: Techniques and Solutions Using Visual Basic® and the DFC (Paperback)
The book does a great job in describing what is needed to perform various functions in documentum. I just wished that the author did not use the same examples over and over again. It would be great if there were more variety of examples as to show the many ways a function or procedure can be performed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Response to Above Reviewer Regarding .Net vs. VB, August 21, 2005
This review is from: A Beginner's Guide to Developing Documentum® Desktop Applications: Techniques and Solutions Using Visual Basic® and the DFC (Paperback)
Actually, since Documentum will interface w/ MS Office Suite, many solutions will be implemented in VBA.

The above said, yes, some solutions will be implemented in VB and .Net.
