This is a very, very, basic document on Options. If one wants athorough understanding of options, the CBOE has a large selection ofdocuments at no cost. They also offer seminars throughout the country also for free.

1.0 out of 5 stars Book Incomplete ..., March 29, 2000
This review is from: The Beginners Guide to Becoming a CompleteTrader - Trading Stock Options (Paperback)
You should know first that I am not an options expert. I am just a person who thinks he might want to get into trading options, and has spent only the past few months buying and reading books on the subject.

The book "The Beginners Guide to Becoming a CompleteTrader", is not worth spending money on for several reasons. Although the introductory material about option trading is accurate (as far as I can tell), the book is more of an advertisement for a technical analysis measurement called "T-Indicators". The book doesn't tell you what a "T-Indicator" is. ( ) I am certainly not qualified to judge the quality of any particular indicator, but I have read enough to know that there are thousands of indicators out there, and that a bit of study about them is in order before adopting any particular indicator. Whatever a "T-Indicator" is, you will not learn anything about it by reading this book.

I ordered this book from Amazon.com, read it in less than an afternoon (really) ...

You should also know before you buy this book that it is "vello bound", meaning that it looks like a spiral notebook, giving it a cheap look-and-feel for a book. END

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide to a complex subject, February 17, 2000
By
This review is from: The Beginners Guide to Becoming a CompleteTrader - Trading Stock Options (Paperback)
This book is an excellent beginners guide to the complex subject of options trading. Not only is it a good introduction but it is also useful to the seasoned trader. It is very readable and the subject treatment is very "user friendly." I have read many books on options trading and technical indicators and, for the beginner, this book is, by far, one of the best. It combines methods of stock selecting, trading philosophy, and some of the do's and don't's of trading into a thorough package. Coupled with their website with its daily updates and links, CompleteTrader has a very comprehensive and "complete" package.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment, May 6, 2000

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Beginners Guide to Becoming a CompleteTrader - Trading Stock Options (Paperback)
Disappointed: I found the book "The Beginner's Guide to Becoming a Complete Trader Trading Stock Options" to be a big disappointment. Why? While the first part of the book provides a very basic definition to the most basic types of options trading, the remainder of the book was dedicated to a brief overview of some "proprietary" trading indicators. To utilize these "proprietary" indicators developed by the authors, you have to pay to become a member of the author's web site. The useful information provided by this book is available free of charge from many brokers and other sources. If you are serious about learning trading of options, this is not the guide.

...not just yet but well on my way after studying this guide and applying it to the market! Complete trader.com supplies the basic knowledge to trade stock options and more importantly gives thoughtful and meaningful support through their web site. I am quite pleased by the frequent updates to the site and the person-to-person interaction to answer questions and help with getting started.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must for the options trader!, April 8, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Beginners Guide to Becoming a CompleteTrader - Trading Stock Options (Paperback)
I am new to the options market so I needed a good crash course in options trading. This is it! It cleared up a lot of the mystery and misinformation surrounding stock options. Despite the book's limited length, it covers the basics of options and you don't even have to be a market guru to understand it. The only drawback is that this is essentially an infomercial in book form. This is not a serious drawback though, because the book is extremely informative even without subscribing to the author's website. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to realistically increase their success in the market!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Foundation for Trading Options, April 5, 2000
This review is from: The Beginners Guide to Becoming a CompleteTrader - Trading Stock Options (Paperback)
This guide explains in plain English the basics to trading stock options...everything from what calls and puts are, to how to evaluate pricing and volatility, even how to find a broker and make trades. The 6 pages that introduce a technical system for looking at stocks are definitely an added benefit. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has tried to muddle through the mysteries of trading options. This book is one you'll reference time and time again for the answers. Packed full of information.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beginner's Guide to becomming an Expert!, April 4, 2000

This review is from: The Beginners Guide to Becoming a CompleteTrader - Trading Stock Options (Paperback)
This guide takes beginning investors through the process of investing with stocks and options. If you are new to investing this is a must read. The book coupled with the website provides unparalleled advice and guidace directly from the authors! The guide is intended to provide the uninitiated with basic information. This solid foundation is further strengthened by advice from the active bulletin board and the chat rooms. The authors are ever-present and provide continuous instruction. The "T" indicators referred to in the guide are amazingly accurate when coupled with the required instruction. If you are timid or new to investing, this program imparts the information necessary to become your broker's advisor! The book is an easy read and the entire process of learning the system is quick. If your desire is to invest with confidence and minimize risk, look no further! For the more seasoned investors, this system is so accurate and easy that many (myself included) have given up far more tedious analysis methods. Perhaps the best feature is the ability of the "T" indicators to show false breakouts! I have tried them all and this is the best! If you aren't using this process you ARE losing money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful, February 17, 2000

Mark (Dayton, Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Beginners Guide to Becoming a CompleteTrader - Trading Stock Options (Paperback)
As a beginning options trader, this book helped clarify alot of the mysteries and eliminate alot of fears associated with options. With the help of the book's examples and clear explanations, I have been successfully choosing options that make me money. The web site has also greatly helped because of all the additional tools found in one internet location. The Beginner's Guide was a great find by itself, but the web site definitely has added benefit. A great book for beginning investors.
