This beautiful and inspiring guide uses step-by-step photographs to teach the techniques and stitches needed for silk shading. Four designs—a butterfly, a climbing vine, tulips, and dog roses—are provided with complete instructions for transferring the pattern, preparing the fabric, setting the piece up on a frame, and working the silk shading. Suitable for both beginners and experienced embroiderers, the finished projects have an accomplished-looking and delicate elegance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Instructions!, March 20, 2008

This review is from: Beginner's Guide to Silk Shading (Paperback)
The book arrived within a very few days, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I found the instructions to be clear and informative, the designs beautiful, and the step by step photographs very helpful. After having completed the embroidery of one of the beginning designs, I am looking forward to trying the others.
