Beginners' Handwriting is a set of 28 large (11 x 17 inches, or 28 x 43 centimeters) sheets, with a Teacher's Guide. Here is an excellent introduction to handwriting, proved successful over the many years of use in classrooms.
Fun, pre-writing activities, suggestions and illustrated instructions prepare children for using the sheets. Place the sheets, with their large, well-defined patterns and letters on easels or the wall in the children’s direct line of vision for maximum eye-hand coordination.
All letterforms are simple. The intent is that the lowercase letters will join up later using the Barchowsky Fluent Handwriting method, the means to easy, legible, rapid and individual writing. However, the forms are close enough to other print-script alphabets that they can serve to develop good rhythmic movement to ease the transition to conventional cursive.
