From the ashes of his previous band gone sour, Doug took songs already written but not yet played and searched for an outlet. Good friend Forrest Robinson came in on drums, and he knew a talented keyboardist from playing other shows in town. Eric Frampton joined the ranks on keyboards, and after listening to the music knew exactly who to call for bass. Glenn Longmuir was a great fit, and Agent Cooper was born. After playing a few shows around town, the band recorded their self-titled debut CD. The world gave great reviews, and the fan base grew bigger each day....but then member changes, life changes, financial changes, and the next thing you know its been six years! Long time friends Sean Delson (bass) and Frank Fontsere (drums) joined the band, and along with Doug and Eric, recorded the 2005 release "Beginner's Mind".
Beginner's Mind, the sophomore release from Atlanta, Georgia-based Agent Cooper, was six years in the making. It's a whirlwind ride through a string of styles and influences that saw it's genesis during the recording of the first Agent Cooper record in 1998. In the years that followed, singer/songwriter Doug Busbee wrote, and the band recorded and re-recorded, almost two complete albums worth of material; the best of that material became Beginner's Mind.

On Beginner's Mind, Agent Cooper has managed to balance catchy hooks with blazing chops. It's an album the most hardcore prog'er _and_ his girlfriend will enjoy.
