I am finding all sorts of good information in this book as I start my journey into the world of gardening; however, the editing is rather atrocious. I can't say I've ever read a published book with grammatical or spelling errors in every other sentence. Picky? Perhaps, but it causes me to question the credibility of the source.

I got this book for the resident greenie in my home. My 17 year old wants to start working a small of patch of earth that she can call her own and I'm glad I got this guide for her.

A Beginners Guide to Organic Vegetable Gardening is a delightful book. I love the photos (probably all the author's own), the logical layout - from planning an organic garden to mulching, worm farms and even how to preserve the end product.

This writer certainly knows her stuff! I highly recommend this book.

Wow, this is really a complete gardening guide, beautifully presented and with every facet of gardening covered. The section on pests and diseases is one of the best that I've seen. Congratulations Mel,

Many of the sentences did not make sense. Also, Organic gardening that involves styrofoam and bleach seems fairly odd. Bye.

This book is true to its title. The information seems to be accurate, but is limited in its scope and direction. All in all a good read for persons seeking to get started.

I am very pleased with the information, photos and descriptions in this book. The information is complete and useable. Chapter layout would have been a bit more logical if the soil information was first and then things followed in growing, maintaining, storing manner. Still, recommend due to the very informative and well-presented material.

Mel Jeffrey's book on Organic Gardening is the complete package for beginners as her description says. But as a somewhat experienced gardner myself, I found some tips that I haven't come across as well.
She includes lots of helpful tips for saving money, small space options....I mostly liked the use of a coconut shell as a container.
I highly recommend it to beginners and veterans alike as a handy guide to growing your own veggies in a healthy manner.

this is an okay book, but if you really want to get into organic vegetable gardening, get the readers digest illustrated guide with the organic section. that's a much better resource than this book.
