I've been using this course for a while off and on, and it's pretty good for learning the grammar, I suggest using something along with it to get you going faster on learning phrases and vocab,(isync is very good on your ipod) this course is very detailed in grammar, which is good and important if you want to really learn the language, but it can also be frustrating if you want to learn quicker. I think it's good to have a balance of both.. learning a bit like a child (phrases and vocab) and then also some grammar.
It is important to learn why you are saying what you are saying and how to formulate sentences correctly. But like I said I'd mix it up with something else to break the tediousness of learning grammar.

Anyway, It is a pretty comprehensive course, but there are times when it presents you with questions and you can't answer them because it didn't teach you that particular thing yet.. also having to switch back and forth between two books is a bit annoying , the dialogue is mostly in the second book and you often have to go back and forth.
The answer keys have a quite a few mistakes..
For example.. I recently did an exercise which asks you to listen to the numbers and write down the DIGITS that you hear.. but the answer key has it written out in word form.. instead of digits! There were a few other errors I encountered also. And this is frustrating when you want to know the answers obviously! And I know they are defects and not my mistakes because they are obvious one's like I mentioned above.

Oh yea and also.. they say they have a"take along" cd..but it's only good if you've memorized the dialogue and you know what they are saying beceause they are completely in Italian!
