5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific resource-really! January 27, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I have been fussing lately about so many self help books that are thinly disguised biographies…or chest beaters. I have to read through half the book before I get to any kind of actual advice. At the risk of sounding ….mean, I don’t honestly care about the fabulous life of the author. Using examples to clarify a point is one thing, pages and pages of name dropping and family vignettes don’t teach me anything.

This book gets to the point. Right away. It’s a reference book, not a biography. She makes her points succinctly and in plain, everyday English. I don’t know how much money she makes every year and I don’t care. She has something to teach me and she’s able to do it. I can refer to this book when I want to clarify something, get motivated or remind myself of what I’m trying to do.
It’s a terrific little reference book that I plan to keep right next to my computer where I do my writing. If you’re looking for something that won’t eat up valuable time, speaks a language you can understand and nudges a smile from you occasionally, get this little jewel.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Detail Left Out July 17, 2014
By Jill R
Format:Kindle Edition
Alicia has written a very extensive and well organized guide to writing for the online community, that I definitely found to be worth reading AND studying.

Alicia left no detail out as she tackles every aspect of writing online content. This book contains great information on finding ideas, creating the title and subtitles, writing each part of your article (opening sentences, main body and closing), using graphics and connecting with your audience.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I found it to be a very comprehensive a book which I will refer back to often. It is a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative Blog Writing Help Book February 21, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
The message in this straightforward how-to reference book was clearly stated. The content discusses a broad range of relevant topics to bloggers or online writers including knowing your audience, blog post ideas, choosing specific titles with content in mind, types of hooks, utilizing subheadings, format ideas for easy reading, and more. The content was well written and organized. I recommend this book to beginning bloggers or individuals wanting to improve their writing skills with regards to online posts and content. I have been blogging for years and this book motivated me set goals and to pay closer attention to the content that I write focusing on many different aspects. The author provides examples and models her own advice on the pages of the book. Alicia Rades used numbered lists, short paragraphs, and bullets to make the reading more simplified and streamlined. Furthermore, the book was a short easy read which is of great importance to me. I can rely on the information when I need help clarifying my information or guidance with writing high-quality, focused content. I really liked this book and found it to be informative and helpful. It'll be my go to resource book when working on blog posts for now. The book reminded me of what I learned about good writing in college. I received a free copy of this ebook in PDF format from Story Cartel in exchange for an honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, straightforward guide February 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Here is a straightforward guide on how to write well in an online context. The author covers a wide variety of topics, from choosing a good topic and writing about it to adding legal graphics and editing the final work. As the title of the book says, it is precisely for beginners, whether someone who is new to writing whole articles and stories or a person who is just opening their blog or freelance endeavors for the first time.

The only downsides to this book that I saw were in regards to its lack of formatting polish and that it was not definitive in some areas. For instance, the index page was clunky with the numbers centered instead of aligned right and some of sections appeared to have too many different types of subheadings. In regards to the content, it would have been helpful to compare and explain how writing online is different from other types of writing. Those aside, it is a great book for people starting out in the online world.

I received a free download of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff February 18, 2014
By George
Format:Kindle Edition
I am probably the perfect reader for this book, because although I have often thought about blogging some about my field of expertise, I never have actually gotten around to it. I don't know if that's due to time limitations or if I just dont' feel confident enough to do it. The information in this guide is just really good for someone like me. If I do decide to start writing a blog, I won't be flailing around trying to understand how to structure a good blog entry, because the book has given me everything I need to come up with ideas for articles and write them the way an internet audience would want to read them. Plus, it was all laid out in a really easy to read way Good stuff! Thank you!

I got a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
