I can't believe what my ears are hearing!! I stumbled across Brittney's album while attempting to buy Yanna Crawley's. I previewed this album and was like awww shucks I gotta buy this. If you're previewing and are thinking, "Oh my goodness, everything is hot" it really is, trust!! Sorry Yanna, I'm glad I chose Brittney Wright but I'll get yours in a minute. Let me review this fire, anointed, musically complex and so fabulously put together album. Britt, where have YOU been? I know God's been hiding you but I'm glad that He's allowed You to come out at this moment in time. Gospel needs this! Listen all my gospel heads, this is anything unlike what you've heard....You MUST get this... I'm ready to go to a Brittney Wright concert like......NOW!!!
"Sooo..What!!! I'm a believer," Yes we're letting em know! This song is funky and upbeat; a great album opener. Next is Clap Your Hands which opens with a real hype electronica sound and horn instrumental, "Celebrate new life, livin for Christ." I love 'Hey, I'm forgiven,' the opening chorus just grabs You and it's such a joyful sound "Hey, I'm forgiven, now I'm forever changed." This song also has a slight reggae twang to me and the lyrics don't disappoint...It's powerful, "I'm forgiven, You took away my sins and You gave me peace within." Next is probably my number 1 pick, 'Draw me Nearer,' The lyrics, sound, beat are like amazing on this song, Everything complements each other so well including background vocals....Annointing fall..This is mmyyyy Songggggg!!!!! Listen when I tell you every single song is awe-inspiring, I mean it. I really am picky about how I rate albums but this...!!!!! When I was listening to the album, she had me on the edge of my seat like what is this chile gonna do next!!? 'Tell Me Where I Would Be' will make you smile...Let Go Let God, has a 50s 60s flair...and the lyrics appeal to me so much in my life right now..."I just stopped worrying about it and I let it go, I just quit tryna absorb it and I let it go." Next song 'I Need Thee' is a cry out to God and a love song to the Lord." Her rendition of 'I Need Thee' is...creatively arranged, smooth and endearing.. I love it. Now 'He's Not Forgotten' is a song of encouragement...Brittney, I needed this thanks for reminding me. Folks, God has not forgotten about you, you may be in a place that may seem foreign to you but God hasn't forgotten about you. 'If I Never Said I Love You' another love song to God...God is so amazing, I was truly blessed listening to this song. "You looked past all my flaws and all just to see who I would be...... If I never said I love You Lord, just know that I do." This song is a plea to the Lord and I can feel her honesty. Next, 'You Changed My Life' has got this real jazz, bluesy feel and I'm LOVING the background vocals on this. Brittney shows us some of her skatting skills, her voice is Bananas....Powerful and Convincing!!!!! You get a real treat towards the end of this song! 'I Can Win' is a song for the battle. We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ! Last but not least, a classic: 'What a Friend We Have in Jesus' another great arrangement, I love the guitar on this one, love where she took it, another heart cry to God. My top two gospel artists are Karen Clark and Fred Hammond and folks Brittney is now a third. <<Yeah I just said that, serious, Go get it!! Every bridge on each song was nothing short of creative genius...to her production team and band kudos...Can you make me a track?! Lol I really love EVERY SONG but the Stand out Tracks in my opinion: Draw me Nearer, I'm forgiven, Let Go Let God, He's Not Forgotten, I Can Win And this is just the Beginning......

It's been a very long time since I've bought an album, and liked every single song! There aren't any skippers, or filler tracks on this one.
Don't hate me but I call her the female Mali Music! And I love Mali Music. Her style is similar to his, and her vocals are on point! Worth every penny!

Brittney Brings The Gospel The Wright Way !!!,
This review is from: The Beginning (Audio CD)
It's always exciting from the perspective of a journalist to review a bold and blazing new artist who brings something intrinsically new to the table to feast on. The hot new contemporary project entitled The Beginning featuring Baltimore's Brittney Wright fits the bill. The album...a basket of musical goodies, covering the spectrum of Black music...is nothing less than a shining diamond that beams through with beauty, perfection and infinite value for God's people. The music in particular is an interesting assortment of sounds and styles that will inspire enthral and encourage the believer, the artist and the music fan. Kudos to the producers, Left Brain Production, for showing creativity and cleverness over 12 tracks that combine with such precision, you get the sense of a chemistry experiment-gone-Wright. But it's Brittney Wright who carries the album with her big personality and even bigger talent, as a vocalist, songwriter and worship leader. The partnership between artist and producer, soul and spirit, is evident and contagious throughout the album, leaving the listener with a treasure worth its value on iTunes. Brittney's abundance of talent is the culmination of a life of dedication to music and ministry. This is a woman who's anxiously prepared for The Beginning. Brittney attended the Cleveland School Of The Arts throughout her teens. In college, she was a member of the internationally renowned Morgan State University Choir and has served many recent years in the capacity of Praise & Worship Leader at the Empowerment Temple A.M.E. Church, where Dr. Jamal Bryant is her senior pastor. So, The Beginning plays more like the next chapter in Brittney's journey. The album busts out like a Jack in the box with a bold admission, B-MORE style, "I'm a believer...So What!!!" The album keeps its kinetic pace on the celebrational song, Clap Your Hands, an infectious, victory jam for choosing Christ. The album continues to stretch boundaries and operate outside the box on the next track, Hey I'm Forgiven, a victory chant of redemption. The music is so seasoned. The message is so earnest. Brittney is in full bloom by the time track 3 ends, showing an easy ability to testify in song with both sincerity and excellence in her favor. Revealing the grittiness and funk of Baltimore, Brittney brings a musical twist to the standard hymn, Draw Me Nearer, that works like musical magic. I am left in awe by the depth and imagination of both the artist and the producer to churn out songs that resonate with my soul and seasoned ear. Tell Me Where Would I Be is a fun-`n-friendly chorus that speaks to the amazing grace of Jesus Christ. While Let Go, Let God is the familiar message of letting God be in control...told in unfamiliar minor chords and undertones reminiscent of Bilal and D'Angelo. Brittney cloaks another timeless hymn, I Need Thee, with catchy chords and an amazing arrangement that will have multiple generations singing the same old song, "I need thee...oh, I need thee...every hour, I need thee." Wright and her studio masterminds (Justin Lay, Joshua Lay) take it up another notch on He's Not Forgotten, a faith-filled refrain that showcases Brittney's ability to raise the praise. It's a spirited song that reminds us that we're forever in the thoughts of our Lord. On If I Never Said I Love You, Brittney elevates the message of brotherly and sisterly love unspoken. It's a mid-tempo force of nature sure to become a favourite with its love theme. The last two tracks are sure winners with I Win (Overcomer), the first single from the album and a lovely little tune that presents Brittney Wright, as a veritable vocalist and aspiring A-List artist. The album concludes in a whisper with another classic hymn, What A Friend We Have In Jesus, told in that acoustic, jazzy-style Wright is able to muster up in a moment's notice. The Beginning is an ambitious, raw recording for a new, Independent artist, which fares well for Brittney Wright. There will be great anticipation and much favor in her future. And for now, listeners can enjoy this fine project, knowing full well it's just The Beginning of great things to come from this breakout artist.

I stumbled upon this album as I was purchasing new music from Amazon. I'd gotten a few e-mail blasts about Brittney Wright, but never went to her website, but then since her album was there for me to preview, I decided to listen and as soons as I heard the first few measures of the 1st song, I immediately perked up. I got about half way through the snippets and decided to purchase the whole album! This album is on heavy rotation now. Her voice and style are phenomenal. I highly recommend this album. The production is great, the song variety is great and the choices she makes vocally are on point. Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing more from Brittney Wright.
