5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, December 28, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got the CD at Tina's concert in L.A. at the Hotel Cafe on Oct.23 2008. She also signed it fir me. It was a great show, and the "trilogy", as she calls it is a beautifully woven cohesive piece of art. That is what I think makes it unique: it is not just a collection of songs, but there is a series of threads that traverse all three of the EP's. It is like a complex picture of life. I like the idea of a beginning, a middle and an ending. In this case, like life, it is a beginning, a detour -- where we go off on some tangent, and then an open ending. We make up the ending with our choices. I love Tina's music. It is honest and truthful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Concept, December 7, 2008
I love Tina and all of her music but this particularly was a great concept doing essentially three mini-albums in one. Listening to this CD you get the feeling of being in a small coffee-shop listening to this beautiful artist, and beautiful woman pour her heart out in song.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Extraordinary Talent!, March 10, 2009

This review is from: A Beginning A Detour An Open Ending (Audio CD)
I love this 3-CD set. All of Tina's songs just get better the more you listen to them. I saw Tina in concert at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco on 9 March 2009. Her voice is even better in person than on her albums! Her lyrics are amazing. Please read the other reviews here. They describe this incredible woman's talent very well. Tina is only one of two artists whose albums I buy without having heard any of the songs first (Dido is the other one). Every little thing she does is magic!

She was gracious enough to take a few minutes to talk with me, to sign my CDs and to pose for photo with me. I was thrilled!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rare Talent!, March 8, 2009
This review is from: A Beginning A Detour An Open Ending (Audio CD)
Every once in a while an artist appears with a depth of songwriting rarely seen or heard nowadays. Tina Dico is one such artist. Talented is an understatement for this woman who for many years has had a huge following in her native Denmark. She works the singer-song writer/rock/pop genres so well you almost think you are listening to a different singer such is the range and depth of talent of this woman. An incredible live artist often playing solo with acoustic guitar (which HAS to be seen and heard to be believed)she wrote these three EPs on the road creating a trilogy on the way. A fine trilogy too, not overproduced as so many artists are these days, instead relying on superb songwriting, poignant lyrics and strong vocals to get the story across. If you like female singer/songwriters this is one artist you do not want to pass up on. Check out her other cds too, In The Red and Count To Ten. Brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!, April 16, 2009

I buy a lot of music, but Tina's album struck such an emotional chord. I find myself sitting with the lyric book when I listen to it. She has so much to say and says it so well. Definitely the most moving recording I've purchased in a long time...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, thoughtful, introspective, worldly, February 7, 2009
This review is from: A Beginning A Detour An Open Ending (Audio CD)
This album is so good. Tina Dico is amazing, and her lyrics and voice are amazing. The song "London" is so good and very interesting to hear how she is dealing with her famous life and amazing to hear her thoughts in laid out beautiful prose. "All I see is you" is haunting and beautiful. "Glow" brings tears to my eyes.

I have been listening to this one non stop. And artist for the new century, and someone to look forward to every album.
