Book Description

January 26, 1996
John Hagee tells the story to both the Christian and the Jew of the assassination of Yitzah Rabin, the Prime Minister of Israel, and how this was one event foretold by the prophets. He addresses the Jew by explaining how according to God's Word this event has and will effect the choices they make as a people and a nation. He calls Christians to be courageous, for God is in control. As someone who knew Prime Minister Rabin, he helps all to recognize the price of peacekeeping.

4.0 out of 5 stars Be Open, But Think For Yourself, January 29, 2004

This review is from: Beginning Of The End, The (Paperback)
Beginning of the End is a fascinating look at where the world is heading in relationship to the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. A vague sort of marker on the timeline of earth's predetermined destiny. He does a fairly decent job of using previously fulfilled prophecies to prove the veracity of the Bible, and then goes on to give his educated opinion of how the end times might play out. While Hagee offers much to learn and ponder, no self-respecting person, especially a Christian, should take his word to be infallible. Read the book, do your own study and research, and come to your own conclusions. As Hagee himself states in the book, most of it doesn't really even matter for Christians because we won't be here when it happens anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars A look at current events through the lense of the Scripture., June 3, 1999

Beginning of the End is a very enjoyable read. Obviously he comes from a Pre-Millennial, Pre-Tribulational viewpoint. Sometimes the book reads more like a novel than a study on eschatology. I feel Rev. Hagee's interpretation is often more isogetical (based on current events) than exegetical (based on the Scripture). Yet, his writing style is enjoyable and his speculations are interesting. I recommend the book but would encourage people to also investigate other authors on the subject (Pentecost, Ice, Walvoord).

1.0 out of 5 stars Theological Exploitation at its Best (or Worst), December 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Beginning Of The End, The (Paperback)
Time after time similar historical events were exploited as "proofs" that the end of the world is upon us. Gorbachav as the Antichrist, due to the "mark" on his forehead is one of my all-time favorites. Now that we are less than a year away from the end of the 90's, we see why the Preterist view (which teaches that New Testament eschatology focused on the end of the OLD covenant, not the new) is gaining increased acceptance. It is my hope that once we pass the year 2000, these types of hype-driven books will cease to excite interest. That starts with you. Buy R.C. Sproul's "Last Days According to Jesus" instead.
