4.0 out of 5 stars Some Solid Metal, February 11, 2008
By Johan Svahnstrom (Clearwater, FL USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This album is a must for everyone who likes true metal. I am not talking about the Manowar style "true metal", but just really good and solid Heavy Metal. Great riffs, terrific drumwork and something as unusual as brilliant vocals. The singer has an excellent voice. Hard to say who he really sounds like in the metal world and that may be the best complement of all.
For fans of great metal like Astral Doors, Lions Share and maby even early Megadeth (album is indeed produced by Dave Ellefson).
A safe "cold purchase" for everyone who is looking for new fresh metal band.

3.0 out of 5 stars doesn't really do anything to progress it beyond 1987, February 15, 2007

Warmachine were quite popular on the Megadeth Message Boards about four years ago (that's where I first heard them). For years I was baited with killer samples of what was to come. As the years past by, the Canadian metal act finally put together a full-length album (with some help from ex-Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson - imagine that). After all the wait, after all the hype, it's finally here in my hands. Was it worth it? Not really. They certainly have that classic thrash metal/Bay Area sound nailed down, but Warmachine doesn't really do anything to progress it beyond 1987.

3.0 out of 5 stars Solid album, April 22, 2006
By Armatura (Serbia) - See all my reviews
First of all, this is not a trash or speed metal band like megadeth or metallica used to be. This is melodic power metal so if u r expecting to hear some trash./speed metal dont buy this album. However, if u like power metal it is a fun album to listen to.
