Lial and Hornsby have written a number of books on Algebra. Hence, their expertise in this field of Mathematics and ability to deliver in the form most suitable for the middle and high schoolers , in particular is wonderful. Review Exercises at the end of each major subdivision provide means for readers to practice. And also ensure that the readers have gained overall expertise in the particular subdivision. Also , another advantage of this book , in contrast to many other available books, is the cumulative review exercises that engulf concepts from all the preceding chapters, which provides the means to show how these topics are interrelated. Tests provided also aid in this process. The topics are well organized and explained. Very Good Book...

Beginning & Intermediate Algebra book just as described. I needed it for my math class this semester and ordered it 1 day Prime. Great choice ordering from Amazon if this is the book you need for your college course.

This book is used in some college classes but is also a great tool for kids learning algebra. It comes with a CD & post it tabs to help you find pages easily that are on a test or that are giving you trouble.

I recently ordered this book for my math that I needed pronto. I was so surprised how good the book looked when I ordered it as used. The box pacakge was tacky and bent up but my book wasn't harmed nor tanted. They should improve on packaging but the book was good. I didn't believe in the one day shipping the promised so I went ahead and paid extra for the two day shipping which arrived on time.

This book was greatly needed for a remedial class. All of the books ordered were in pretty good shape. This book has a tendency to tear at the seams quickly when handled for a long period of time. Excellent arrival time.

The algebra book couldn't have been more relevant. It is easy to read and the examples are so lucid that it calms the anxiety of someone who has dreaded the subject. It is a good recommendation.

I got my book in a short about of.time the book was in really good condition except for the tear but the book was really well priced the cheapest I could find.
