Book Description

March 11, 2003 1861008333 978-1861008336
The 1.4 version of the Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE) is the latest evolution of the server-side, enterprise application supporting Java 2 development platform. To build dynamic Java based Web applications ,or n-tier Java applications for the enterprise, you'll need to get to grips with the technologies this platform contains.

This book will give you a fast-paced introduction to J2EE, focussed on getting you up to speed with the most critical aspects of this technology. By concentrating discussions on the most used parts of J2EE (such as JavaServer Pages, Servlets, EJBs, and Web Service support), Beginning Java Server Programming J2EE 1.4 edition will deliver the knowledge you need to appreciate this platform.

Wrox understands that learning J2EE is a career decision - this book not only explains the technology via hands-on tutorials and clear explanations, but also explains how J2EE is used in real-world scenarios, how knowledge gained on the J2EE RI relates to commercial application servers, and provides resources to support your J2EE career aspirations.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Beginning Java Server Programming J2EE 1.4 Edition is for people looking to develop their career and move their Java skills onto the next level, by migrating from client-side desktop application development to using the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (1.4 version) to develop dynamic web sites and enterprise level applications.

To get the most out of this book you'll need a reasonable familiarity with the Java language, and an enthusiasm to see how Java can be applied to web-enabled business application development.

1.0 out of 5 stars OUT OF DATED Book, November 13, 2003
This review is from: Beginning J2EE 1.4 (Paperback)
I bought this book a month ago. It is a piece of junk. The book mentions deploytool that it was old version. You could not follow how to run j2ee from this book at all. You will be stuck every pages and got a headache like me. You have to find the answer from the Internet. Lots of people who bought this book have problems too, pls check wrox forum. No one helps you. The author disappears. Lots of error, out of dated.... Don't waste your money.... I will not buy book from WROX again
