By
Greg (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: From the Beginning to Plato: Routledge History of Philosophy Volume 1 (Paperback)
This volume is the first in a series published by Routledge covering the history of Philosophy from its beginnings in Greece until the 20th century.

The volume contains about 20 essays from leading scholars in Ancient Philosophy covering the historical and cultural background to ancient Greece as well as essays on the main streams of thought from various Philosophers, including the Pre-Socratics, Socrates, and Plato. The volume also contains essays covering ancient Greek religion, science and mathematics and how these influenced philosophy. This series is essential background reading for any student of ancient Greek philosophy.
