Book Description

September 13, 2000

There are many end times novels on the market. But the Omega Trilogy takes the apocalyptic story a step further into biblical truth, using the power of allegory to help the reader understand the full horror of the decline of America and the end of the world. Epic in scope, with an extended cast of characters, this first book opens as America falls into decline and moves toward a devastating end. With mythic style, the authors present a gripping story not only through the lives of individual characters, but also through economic, military, social, and political aspects of the scenario. The Omega Trilogy will open new ways of thinking not only about what the end times will be like, but also what it means to all believers.

Note from Publisher: Due to the overall sales of the first two books in the Omega Trilogy, we regret to report that the third book, Seven Golden Vials, will not be releasing. However, we are happy to announce a new series from Gilbert Morris, debuting in the spring of 2003, tentatively titled "The Creoles." Be looking for the first book to hit bookshelves early next year.

4.0 out of 5 stars Is This the Beginning Of All Sorrows?, April 24, 2000
By
Harvey Willis (Louisville, Kentucky(USA)) - See all my reviews
This book is for lovers of Christian science-fiction with cliff-hanging ending. What is the beginning of sorrows? Who knows? It can possibly be during the tribution period(a time of great sorrow)or some other great disater. The book is unclear in some areas but is mainly these authours look into the future of America. After reading this book one wonders is these really what America is going to become. A nation filled with drugs, violence and prostiution. Hopeful not. If you like suspensefull endings then you will like this book. The first of the Omega Trilogy. It left me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what they where talking about and what is going to happen next. This book overall is a succesful contribution to the world of Christian literature from Gilbert Morris and his two children Lynn and Alan.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Non Preachy Novel That Is Built For The Edge of Your Seat, January 7, 2001
By
Gilbert Morris and his writing partners have created a real-feeling atmosphere for this novel. They introduce genetically engineered humans without typical science fiction techno-speak, keeping to an intelligent prose without losing us in DNA babble. The characters are by and large normals, not GEH's; They have adult relationships, not guilt-ridden regrets or sudden ephipinies of spiritual insight. I really like these genuine people type characters, and the Morris clan develops them with purpose. The people in power are weird enough to be completely believable, in light of Modern politics and Media creation madness. The military technology is fascinating and the soldiers hit the mark dead center bullseye. As events develop you will begin to read faster, hungry for every word. The storyline is familiar, but the telling is what makes the thing. I found myself reminded at times of Frank Herbert's weird HELLSTROMS HIVE; and at others, Stephen King's THE STAND. Make no mistake, though, This is part one of a trilogy by Gilbert Morris and Co. I will hold on to my copies of these works and continue to recommend them with confidence to my Christian and Non-Christian friends. Keep them coming, friend Gilbert.

5.0 out of 5 stars Slow going at first, but don't be deceived!, April 14, 2001
This book opens very slowly, but when the action begins, it doesn't stop. You then realize that the opening of the book is needed to balance the pace of the latter part. The characters are strong, complex, and believable; the writing is an unusual style, but evolves nicely. I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it, especially to fans of the Left Behind series.
