Any trainee teacher would be at a loss without this book,
By A Customer
This review is from: Beginning Teaching: Beginning Learning (Paperback)
This book offers trainee teachers, parents and current teachers a guide to approaching the occupation of teaching in a clear and consise manner, which is quite refreshing when compared to other academic books on this subject. The various chapters cover such topics as the various techniques and approaches of teaching, how to manage and organize a classroom for optimim performance, through to simple techniques for self-assessment and appraisal. I found the ideas in this book all the more enlightening as it is written by academics, most of whom are still teaching

Effective Teaching and Learning in Primary Education,
By Belinda Meyer (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Beginning Teaching, Beginning Learning: in Primary Education (Paperback)
I have the second edition of this book by Janet Moyles and Gillian Robinson. This is a comprehensive look at teaching and learning in the primary years. They use many examples to illustrate the complexities of teaching. This text covers effective teaching, classroom processes such as planning, observation and assessment, the variety of ways in which children learn and develop thinking skills. This is a great introductory text for those wanting to enter the teaching profession and newly qualified teachers.
