Editorial Reviews

Coach Dick Gould provides a comprehensive introduction to the sport for a lifetime. It doesn’t matter if you have little or no experience, this DVD can show you how to play the game. More experienced players will discover how to take their skills to the next level. Among the topics covered in this program are: racquet control drills, forehand and backhand, practice drills, serving, net play, how to play doubles and how to keep score. This DVD is highly recommended for beginning and intermediate level players. 83 minutes. 2006.

About the Coach: Few coaches in the history of any sport have been able to reach the level of success that Dick Gould has achieved at Stanford. After coaching for 38 years and winning 17 national titles, Coach Gould retired at the end of the 2003-04 season and assumed the position of Director of Tennis. Coach Gould was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Coach of the Decade in the 1980’s and again in the 1990’s.

A great beginner's DVD. Dick Gould is concise and keeps things simple, as a good instructor should. I am a tennis teaching professional and recommend this for students learning basic techniques, scoring, and playing doubles, as well as for teachers desiring to hone their skills with beginners.
