5.0 out of 5 stars Keep your man on a short leash
If you want a serious self help book to help you over a break up, this isn't it.

If you want to seriously laugh your hiney off, nab this book!

3.0 out of 5 stars Funny?
I bought this as a humorous gift for a bridal shower. However, after reading it, I didn't feel comfortable giving it as a gift. The drawings are cute but the advice is simplistic and a little demeaning to men and women. I get that it is supposed to be funny but it didn't hit the mark for me.

If you want a serious self help book to help you over a break up, this isn't it.

If you want to seriously laugh your hiney off, nab this book!

I got this book as a gift, after a particularly nasty break up had left me quite down in the dumps. I read it, and laughed myself silly!

With slick artwork, and smart and funny one liners, this book is a total joy for anyone who's had man problems. The comparisons of men to dogs is so uncanny it's truly funny.

My favorite? The bit where it quips: "if your dog runs away, do not chase after it, it will only make him run faster, instead, dangle a colorful plaything in his face, he will come running back". The illustration to this one liner is a woman dangling a colorful piece of lingerie in a man's face.

As I said, serious self help it's not, but you know what they say, laugher is the best medicine. Read this book, especially with a best girlfriend, laugh yourself silly, and cheer up.

Men are like buses, another will be by in fifteen minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars COME ON, GUYS (and gals), LIGHTEN UP!, December 18, 2002

This review is from: How to Make Your Man Behave in 21 Days or Less Using the Secrets of Professional Dog Trainers (Hardcover)
This book is a wonderful dramatization of all that Mars/Venus, battle-of-the-sexes, alleged-hopelessness-of-relationships stuff. Read it, laugh, maybe get just a tiny bit more insight into this stuff, and whatever you do, don't take it too seriously. Ever heard of stand-up comedy? Well, this is a stand-up book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it or Hate it, January 3, 2003
This review is from: How to Make Your Man Behave in 21 Days or Less Using the Secrets of Professional Dog Trainers (Hardcover)
This is one of those books you either love or hate. It has a very dry humor. I happen to love that. I read this with my hubby and we had a great time. We really enjoyed the section that talks about not running after your dog.

My husband says that is true! Although Ms. Salmansohn described it in a humorous way.

My hats off to the author for being brave enough to put this out there. Looks like she's gotten a lot of tough criticism but then again they say that any exposure is good for book sales, so you go girl!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Small Gift, February 14, 2002
This review is from: How to Make Your Man Behave in 21 Days or Less Using the Secrets of Professional Dog Trainers (Hardcover)
I recieved this book as a gift. Its definatly pretty funny. I bought a couple more to send to friends. Its a great small gift for that girl friend who is having men troubles, bound to make her smile. Out of the 2 books I have read by this author (the other being "I don't need to have Children I date them")I think this one is most amusing. The art work is also very well done.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pathetic excuse for a book, October 30, 2010
This review is from: How to Make Your Man Behave in 21 Days or Less Using the Secrets of Professional Dog Trainers (Hardcover)
You don't have go deeper that cover of this book to see how despicable author and ideas in this book are. Yes, it is a sad attempt at satire and humor, but certain things are offensive no matter in how colorful package you wrap them in.

I'm 110% sure that this book would suffer a terrible outcry and call for lynch if you would replace word "Men" with word "Women". Probably one of notable news anchors or show hosts ladies would spit all over book in prime time but since it is about men, that makes it okay, right? No, it doesn't.

This book and it's terrible attempt at humor (whatever) is not something to accept lightly. I think of myself as very openminded individual but this book just pushes that tolerance too far. This book shouldn't be burned - no, it should be buried deep - if nothing else, to use it as a fertilizer.

5.0 out of 5 stars cracked me up - and I am a guy!, September 29, 2005
This review is from: How to Make Your Man Behave in 21 Days or Less Using the Secrets of Professional Dog Trainers (Hardcover)
Sex in The city humor -- but oddly kinda true. I always kid with girlfriend that guys are dogs -- including me -- so she showed me this book! I definitely got a big laugh from it. Some of it is true about both men and women. The author discusses flight and chase behavior -- when your dog is runing away you dont chase after him because that only makes him run away faster. You just act like youre having fun without him -- and the dog just wants to be where the fun is - so he will return. Good counsel for both sexes.

This book is absolutely hilarious! This book is all fun so if you're looking for a real self help, don't take this one. I also have dogs so reading it made it all the more funny. To the guys out there, you gotta take this in fun as I'm sure there are other books out there poking fun at women (i.e, women - can't live with them, can't kill 'em vs men - can't live with them, can't play mind games without them :-) ). I really enjoyed this book so if you just want a good laugh or some cheering up, pick this one up, it's worth it.

This review is from: How to Make Your Man Behave in 21 Days or Less Using the Secrets of Professional Dog Trainers (Hardcover)
I agree with the first reviewer that the title is a tad misleading in that there is no daily exercise with to practice this newfound power. But as a humorous, twisted insight into a man's behavior, I found it very funny. But then I'm a man; so my depth of my wit must be weighted accordingly. Now I need to go play my favorite game.

This book is scary because these dog-training techniques would work very well on me and most men I know. Men should unite and buy this book -- let's take it off the shelves before the women find it!
