Only 4 songs, but worth the purchase!, August 24, 2010
This review is from: Behave Yourself (Dig) (Audio CD)
....if you're a pure Cold War Kids, that is. I can think of no other way to describe this EP other than to say that it contains the most 'grown up' songs CWK has released, even though one of the tracks was released some time ago, as a previous reviewer mentions. There's something about the sound that reveals where the CWK sound came from, but also the where there sound seems to be headed on future releases. I'm very impressed with these four songs. As the band says in the liner notes, these songs didn't belong on Loyalty to Loyalty because they didn't quite fit the sound of the entire album. I agree, but am glad they released them in this EP. The 5 stars is attributed to the quality of the songs, although if I had to judge the fact that there are only four songs, I probably would have given it four stars. To me though, the music is more important. I own the vinyl version of the album, which contains no extras that the CD does not have, so if you're looking to buy on the cheap, the CD is definitely the route to go. I haven't looked to see if MP3 downloads are available, but I'm sure they are. Happy listening!

Great but short., April 11, 2010
This review is from: Behave Yourself (Dig) (Audio CD)
Behave Yourself has some amazing songs but for me 4 1/2 tracks is not nearly long enough, even for an EP (not to mention one of the tracks was previously recorded and released). It's worth buying nevertheless.
