I needed this book for one of my graduate classes. The university bookstore wanted much more money but the used copies found on Amazon sufficed just fine. The material is very straightforward and easy to understand. I received this book very promptly and in time for me catch up in my class. This book is a psychology book for people considering going into the behavior management of children in the classroom setting. Prior psychology classes will be helpful in learning some of the theories and practices discussed in this text, but it is not necessary. The authors have written the text in such a way that someone with no prior psychology background can pick this up. Very useful and a lifesaver.

John's book is very reader friendly and he writes in a way that makes it easier to understand the theory behind the principles. If you've ever taken a class from him you'll find that his voice is very much reflected in his writing. John provides many real life examples to demonstrate the practical application of the concepts presented. Great book.

Maag is an amazing! I actually took this class from him while we used the textbook, so I got a different experience then most but his writing is also really engaging. It's not like most textbooks where you want to fall asleep after three sentences. He uses a lot of stories from his personal experience to liven it up and gives great analagies and ways to remember things. Maag is also just an awesome guy, so if you have any likes/dislikes about the book while reading it you can shoot him an email and he would genuinely appreciate it. This is one book from college I kept and did not sell back.

I was hoping for more strategies I could actually use in my classroom. I'd like to have some time to do these things, and teach.
