This is the first book that I have read by this author and it's made me want to read more. Good summer reading. Hot.

Format: Paperback
Kaleen Griffin receives the answer to her prayers when an unknown
relative leaves a house to Kaleen. With no worries about a home, she
now has time to focus on her art. Things, of course, are not what they
seem. Kaleen starts having dreams of a magical place and a fantasy
lover.

With the dreams, it seems, her artistic inspiration has erupted, and
she becomes obsessed with painting. Portions of her dreams start to
mix with her paintings and Kaleen notices other odd occurrences. For
example the door that seems to magically appear and disappear on the
wall in Kaleen's new home. A door that no one seems to know about and
a key that does not seem to exist.

Jo'naz is a shape shifter from Zandermer, a mystical place found in the
forest around Kaleen's house. Jo'naz meets Kaleen on the dream plane,
knowing instantly that she is his soul mate. Jo'naz is the leader of
his clan, which has him leading the fight against Su'are, a malevolent
sorcerer who is intent on taking over Zandermer.

When Su'are brings the battle to Kaleen through the magical door,
Jo'naz has no choice but to rescue her. He shifts to his flying horse
form and takes her from her home to the Xodo forest in Zandermer.
Kaleen is sure that she is dreaming or hallucinating, especially when
she sees Jo'naz in his human form, and recognizes him as the lover from
her dreams.

Kaleen is introduced to the inhabitants of Zandermer and the Xodo
forest, consisting of fairies, and other shape shifters. Even more she
recognizes things from her dreams and things in her paintings. While
fighting with Su'are, Jo'naz tries to get Kaleen to accept her place at
his side.

This book was written really well. however you had to take into acount that it was total fantasy which is what I like. kaleen was very likeable and jo'naz was a strong mate for her. the book bordered on being a little violent. But all in all a pretty good read. this book was at least four stars.
