5.0 out of 5 stars Funny and inspiring
As you have come to expect from John Bytheway, this book is both insightful and humorous. He keeps his book light and readable while addressing heavy and often sensitive issues. This book will stay on my bookshelf (except when I'm rereading it). Great reading and thinking material for wives.

If there is a manual for perpetuating the myth that mormon women this is it. Our founding formothers would come unhinged at the thought of a book telling women to be passive behind their man. Its ironic that women were once told to go out and become professionals while this book is telling women to treat their husbands as the only important thing in the world and...

5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD MARITAL PICK ME UP, December 3, 2009
This review is from: Behind Every Good Man: Helping Your Husband Take the Spiritual Lead in the Home (Paperback)
I found this book to be a breezy read and a good refresher course on kindness and consideration. The author reminds us of what we (hopefully) already know...in marriage (as in parenting, friendship, volunteer work, office politics, etc.) criticism RARELY works. Kind words, thoughtful discussions, clear communication and looking for the best in others (this does include our spouse!) is the key. I think a man could read this book (with the genders reversed) and get just as much from it. I did not find it sexist in the least. If you want a more extreme and entertaining book, try "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands". If you want a complete flip side of this book, try "It's Mostly His Fault".

This is a great book-if you haven't read or listened to anything by John Bytheway, you should! He's really great and is exceptionally good at relating to teenagers and helping them understand spiritual things better. Obviously this book is for adults though and it is very good.

Though the book wasn't exactly what I thought it was (I ordered it on a night I was a little upset), I'm still glad I ordered it. It was a wonderful help and John Btw has great information on how to handle interesting moments in life.

Its a great book! I think its a perfect wedding gift for a woman. Especially the ones who love to be in charge. THis book really helped me to understand my husband better and the advice ...works!!!!! I gave this book a 4, because its way too religious in my opinion. Little bit hard to read for a non-religious person. Other than that the book is awesome!!!

Its ironic that women were once told to go out and become professionals while this book is telling women to treat their husbands as the only important thing in the world and sacrafice everything they hold dear to accomplish it.
