Not much new information that is not in the other 2 Downton Abbey books
on November 3, 2013
I'm a diehard fan of Downton Abbey and have the booksThe Chronicles of Downton Abbey and The World of Downton Abbey. This book, Behind the Scenes at Downton Abbey, is just a rehash of the other 2 books I mentioned previously. The only new thing in this book is that it has a limited amount of photos of the new upcoming Season 4. The narrative gives the same story as the other 2 books (how Julian Fellowes came to creating the series, how the actors were selected, the clothes, the locations, etc. etc. etc.). The book is printed on good quality paper, the photos are clear, and all in color. If I had seen this book in a bookstore, I would not have purchased it. I was debating on whether to return it, but since it does have a few photos of the new season, I will keep it. If you already have both or either of the books I mentioned, save your money and don't purchase this one. If you are new to Downton Abbey or do not have the other 2 books, then, yes, this will be a fine addition to your home library.
