About the Author

Mark Frobose is a well known foreign language teacher, speaker, and author who has taught numerous languages at the high school, private school, corporate, and university levels. Mark's long list of accomplishments in the field of foreign language education include numerous degrees and certificates from foreign and American universities where he has studied and taught such as the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where he was rated as an excellent instructor by his students, the University of Grenoble, France, the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, the Universidad Catolica in Quito, Ecuador, and the Universidad Ibero-Americana in Mexico City to name a few. Mark founded Language Dynamics in 1981 with the express purpose of simplifying and thus speeding up the language learning process. This philosophy of speed and simplicity is evident in every one of the over 60 foreign language titles he has authored.

Yet another great course designed by Mark Frobose. No book is needed, you learn while you drive. Audio is of professional quality throughout, unlike some other courses on the market. The course teaches you a standard conversational Russian, which any of you Russian friends and colleagues will understand. I gave this course only 4 stars because of the following: 1) unlike Forbose's other courses this one is more conventional in its structure and less engaging; 2) a lot of material is being introduced without sufficient repetitions; 3) the voice of the native speaker is not steady and her intonations are highly idiosyncratic and the coloring of her voice is (to me) quite unpleasant; 4) for a language with such long words, words are pronounced too fast. No attempt was made to "split" the words into the syllables, which would have made it easier to comprehend. My wife is taking this course now and likes it. And I, having an advantage of being a native Russian speaker, supplement the course for her with the "dissection" of the longest words into something more palatable.
