Wonderfully patriotic sequel!,
By
This review is from: Behold, an Ashen Horse (Hardcover)
Author Lee Boyland left his readers hanging at the end of THE RINGS OF ALLAH. Five nuclear devices were placed in the United States, but would the US be able to react in time?
BEHOLD, AN ASHEN HORSE picks up the story right where RINGS left off. The US, mired in liberal politics, bureaucracy, and political correctness, doesn't react, and the resulting "Day of Islam" costs the lives of millions of Americans. The entire government is wiped out in the blink of an eye, except retired Air Force General George Alexander, who is serving as the Secretary of Homeland Security. Alexander becomes President, establishes a government, and sets forth to find and punish those responsible. The release of nuclear weapons is authorized, and President Alexander vows that this time there will be no "unfinished business." This book has plenty of technological details, but the author does a great job of keeping things moving and not letting technology bog down the story; the descriptions are simple but accurate. Boyland also does a great job of developing his characters, and you can't help but fall in love with President Alexander as he pulls out all the stops and runs roughshod over the liberal bureaucrats who try to stop him from saving the United States and taking vengeance on those who attacked her. If you ever felt that the US needs to step up and act like the superpower she is, THIS is the book for you!

Scary Book!,
By
This review is from: Behold, an Ashen Horse (Hardcover)
After a televised warning from a terrorist on al-Jazeera five American
cities are leveled by nuclear bombs. New York,Washington D.C.,Boston, Chicago, and Atlanta are destroyed by the blasts. The entire federal government is killed by the blasts. The only surviving cabinet member is retired Air Force general George ASlexander. The nuclear explosions signal the beginning of the "Days of Islam". Muslims cause disruptions on a worldwide scale. An Islamic Empire is declared for the process of worldwide domination. Iran,Iraq,Saudi Arabia, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, and other Middle Eastern nations make up the Islamic Empire. The leader of the Islamic Empire is Muraagibu al-Khawaatim who changes his name to Saladin II. He was responsible for the five nuclear bombs. The bombs were purchased from corrupt Russian KBG officers by al-Qaeda. In the meantime President Alexander goes about rebuilding America and mounting an offensive against the forces of evil. This is a very exciting book that you should read.

The Spirit of America Prevails,
By
This review is from: Behold, an Ashen Horse (Hardcover)
Realistic and frightening account of a mass attack on American soil. Action packed, typical quick thinking, and resourceful responses of the American people and their leaders. A nation literally torn apart, comes together with all its might and resources to restore order and restore America. A fased paced tale, that puts you right in the tick of it with technical accuracy, bureaucratic infighting, inept bungling, and still the spirit of American prevails.

Attention America!,

This review is from: Behold, an Ashen Horse (Hardcover)
The Boylands have done it again! Boyland's novel, "The Rings of Allah," was just the beginning. In "Behold An Ashen Horse," the readers are once again led through a frightening but credible storyline with a realistic plot, this time, showing how radical Islamic terrorists destroy American cities with nuclear weapons. Think it can't happen? Think again. Boyland knows his material and writes with an expertise that demonstrates the depth of his knowledge of this hot, timely topic.

A spirit to cheer for,
By
This review is from: Behold, an Ashen Horse (Hardcover)
The book may open with a tragedy of incalculable proportions but thereafter the spirit that made this country truly great is paramount. The characters exemplify the clarity of thought and purposefulness of action that is required to survive in the life and death struggle with Islam. Resting on these themes is a story that is simply exciting to read. I couldn't put it down. What I particularly liked was the realistic and accurate portrayal of the struggle we are in with Islam. I know this from the extensive research I had to do for my own non fiction work, A Never Ending War. Michael Cappi

Behold, an Ashen Horse,
This review is from: Behold, an Ashen Horse (Hardcover)
"Behold, An Ashen Horse," a new book
by MOAACC's own Lee Boyland -- report by Huck Long While the terrorist attacks on 9/11 were devastating, can you even begin to imagine what we would do if Islamists set off nuclear bombs in five of our largest cities, killing an estimated ten million Americans, effectively decapitating the US Government? What would be the impact of such massive attacks? After the attack on Washington, DC, that killed the President, Cabinet, Congress, and Supreme Court, can our federal government be reconstituted? Can celebrating American Muslims who are killing police and media in the streets be brought under control? Can we get along without oil from Arab nations? With our financial system destroyed in the attack on New York City, can our citizens and businesses continue to function? Should the US declare war, and if so against whom? How and where should American military forces be employed? How should we treat the balance between personal liberties and national survival? Lee Boyland does a masterful job in addressing these issues and many related matters in a fictional, but highly realistic, manner. In fairness to some readers, this excellent book may contain more technical detail than they can readily absorb. In fairness to the author, the technical detail he provides helps to create realistic threats and counteractions. You may very well disagree with some of the actions the author takes to solve horrendous problems, but such situations force us all to think about our most fundamental goal - survival. This is a book that every American should read and think about. Our Islamic enemies would also do well to read this story and understand that the United States of America is a force to be reckoned with - one that is unwilling to submit to the unreal demands of Islam, regardless of the cost.

Move over ,there's a new great author in town!,
This review is from: Behold, an Ashen Horse (Hardcover)
Get your work done, when you start reading this book you will not be able to put it down. The author takes you on a tour of suspense you'll not forget.
The chilling possibility revealed of our vulnerability to another monumental attack by terrorists is staggering. This was fascinating reading, he trumps Tom Clancy! The only disappointment I had was when I finished it and didn't have the next installment to his trilogy, can't wait for it to be released . This book should be on Oprah's book of the year. Strongly recommend all to read this novel. Fran Gilbert

Where is President Alexander,
This review is from: Behold, an Ashen Horse (Hardcover)
Jim Little Author of BROTHERHOOD OF DOOM: Memoirs of a Navy Nuclear Weaponsman Lee Boyland has hit one out of the ballpark with Behold an Ashen Horse. After completing his first book: The Rings of Allah, I immediately ordered his follow-up book. As a nuclear weaponsman I recognized the reality of his story, and the very real possibility of the story becoming headlines some day in the near future! Five American city destroyed by nuclear devices secretly positioned, and awaiting a firing signal, initiated by Islamic Fanatics. After these devastating detonations, and the death of the president, and her cabinet, Secretary of Homeland Security Alexander assumes the mantle of leadership as president. He shows a brand of leadership that has been missing from America for too long. America is badly wounded, but President Alexander undertakes both diplomatic, and military actions with such positive results, it makes the reader want to cheer out loud! If only we had such leadership today. I'm recommending both The Rings of Allah, and Behold an Ashen Horse to my family, and friends as these books may both prove to be a crystal ball we should have peered into and realized what was going on right under our collective noses, and acted on before it was too late!

Great if you think shades of grey are for wimps or liberals.,

This review is from: Behold, an Ashen Horse (Paperback)
My dad made so much more sense to me after I had boys (I grew up with sisters). And now I know how he wants things to work: like they do in this book. This book is great if you like your bad guys really bad and a little stupid, your liberals easily identifiable by their obnoxious inanity (and poor fashion sense), and your women hot, smart, and attracted to military men. The other women are all liberals (see previous). The good guys are easy to find because they are a)men, and b)introduced with height, weight, exercise regimen, and outfit (as in which Brooks Brothers rack-just kidding). Mostly I got the impression that the author wanted, just once, to show everybody how it ought to be done. There's something to that-the media has a power it wants to keep but not admit to, Christians are not all crazy, there is nothing wrong with an America who will defend herself. It's just that the solutions to the problems the world faces are not what they were 30 years ago, and the problems are complex. The Cold War was dangerous time that many Americans today do not appreciate, but in many ways was far simpler than the intricate interplay of economics, religion, and politics we currently face. This was an entertaining book. I just don't believe the issues addressed can be resolved the way they are in it.
