5.0 out of 5 stars Great Beauty and the Beast love story!!, February 4, 2003
This review is from: Eye of the Beholder (Silhouette Intimate Moments No. 1204) (Mass Market Paperback)
Master Sergeant Rafe Marek and his team of Delta Force commandos are called upon to rescue a plane full of hostages from their hijackers forced down on an island whose government is unwilling to help. During the rescue, Rafe and Glenna Hastings are separated from the other team and must rely on Rafe's skill and daring to get them through the jungle and safely to their next pick-up point. Along the way, Glenna, a woman who has protected her heart due to her upbringing, finds herself falling in love with Rafe. Rafe has his own insecurities due to an accident that has not only scarred his face, but his own feelings of self worth. This is a great "Beauty and the Beast" story and while this is my first book by Ingrid Weaver, it won't be my last. This is definitely a keeper!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow wow wow!, April 7, 2003
This review is from: Eye of the Beholder (Silhouette Intimate Moments No. 1204) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is simply a great read for army guys lovers! The connection between the two characters is unmistakable. I tought it was a higly emotional read, with a hero not physically perfect for once (also he is not far from that) and a woman that knows what she wants. The two of them make a great couple. Ingrid Weaver made also a great work describing trauma states associated to stress and all the emotional turmoils that follow.

If you are looking for a book full of emotions, a real romance, you just found what you need!

This is a really great story!! By page 5 I was already sucked in to the book. Rafe and Glenna are a good pair. I really liked Glenna, the heroine, a lot. She was tough, and didn't constantly complain even though she was very frightened throughout the book. Rafe was also great. He's a really tough, macho guy, but has his hang-ups, too. I loved how Glenna persisted in explaining to him that she could still feel for him despite his scars, even when he kept pushing her away. It really was a beautiful story, with a lot of in depth character development. If you like romantic suspense, I think you'll definitely like Eye of The Beholder.

Excellent Cover - Excellent story - Excellent characters - great pace.

Master Sergeant Rafe Marek, all dressed in black, very mucho, very, very ........an elite warrior.
Glenna Hastings, business suit, of silk, terrified for her life.
Pilot shot and probably dying.
Hostages being secreted out the back as the terrorists shove Glenna out the door. She sprained her leg. Her rescuer took a bullet in the leg trying to protect her.
Fascination started at the very beginning.

Trust the terror and uncertanty to bond the protector and protected. Enter the drug lord, Leonardo Juarez and his minions. Yup! he plans on killing both Glenna and Rafe. Until.....?

Traipsing through the jungle and a slide down a waterway - a bout with fever - the spilling of some well kept secrets - an overload of hormones - satelite infra-red shots. Opps! was that x-rated?

Enter Sergeant Flynn O'Toole to the rescue through the help of Captain Sarah Fox, with a little help from her friends in Intellengence and their satelite.

Master Sergeant Rafal Marek's concentration and emotions are shot to hell. Flynn and Sarah are concerned about him.
Well it was just sex not love. No one could love him with his scars.
Great story - Definitely a keeper - a trilogy of the Eagle Squadron with Flynn O'Toole coming up next.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - 5 starr with a plus - [I don't give the plus too often]
