These monitors each bring their calibration certificate, done by an actual living person, and the diagram for each monitor shows, simply, a FLAT RESPONSE. I got them two days ago and very quickly did my first mix with a sound engineer friend (I am a musician and composer), and the difference and upgrade from headphone mixing is unspeakable. Black and sober-looking, these puppies deliver a clean and rich sound, and I sense I haven't explored their full potential yet... Now the next topic: the price: you cannot find these high-ranging quality monitors for this low of a price. The pair costs what one feature-comparable KRK monitor costs. I will be the first to advise to hear all the brands of monitors you can first, because in matters of audio, cost, taste and quality mix differently any one's priorities and music genre. In this price range, these monitors are ultra-competitive, and I would go as far as to say that this pair easily compares to pairs costing $500. If you're not on a budget over $500, I can tell you I am very happy with my active B2031's! Get a pair! (If you're wondering about my set-up: I have these monitors hooked up to a Behringer Xenyx 1204FX Mixer, an Mbox 2, and a Mactel Pro, and they're just a beauty to listen to!)

I bought these B2031A models years ago, and these are by far the best active monitors you can get for the price. These are much more punchy sounding than the passive model. I've used these for mixing songs, parties, dj, and just for listening to everyday music. Anyone who hears them at my place is impressed by the clarity they bring.

While the B2031A models are good for mixing and picking up on mixing nuances you may find in your tracks, they're certainly no good for mastering. The bass lows are way too flat and inaccurate. I usually have to use another set of speakers or phones in order to keep track of my bass. Its almost impossible to get a good count on whether my track has enough bass punch unless I do a side by side comparison of a similar sounding tune. The room correction options on the back of the amplifier help alleviate this, but not to a degree that gave me anywhere near a professional sounding master track.

Other than the bass issues, these are great for picking up on white noise and distortion, which is what monitors are built to do. You also have options to kill highs and lows manually, so you can focus on certain aspects of your mix. I recommend this product to any amateur producer looking to get serious about making good tracks. I haven't regretted one day of making music after buying these monitors and my 8-channel Eurorack. Well worth the money.

I use these for a budget home theater 7.1 setup. They don't sound budget. Behringer gets a lot of flack - but they deserve praise for their Truth line.

Much better bang for the buck than buying any "home theater" speakers. Natural, balanced, no coloration.

and yeah they make great budget studio monitors as well.
