What if you could mount your personal monitor on a mic stand and point it right at your face - and what if it sounded really good? What if it sounded so good it could be used as your main PA system for more intimate gigs and meetings? Say hello to the new B205D, an active PA loudspeaker that is small and light enough to mount on a mic stand. But don't let the small size fool you - the B205D cranks out high-fidelity sound and comes loaded with features that will simply astound you!

The Secret to B205D's Amazing Sound

Thanks to our revolutionary Class-D amplifier technology and internal switchmode power supplies, not only do B205D loudspeakers sound great, they weigh considerably less than most competing active speakers. They pump out 150 of the cleanest, punchiest Watts you've ever heard from a compact loudspeaker, and you can link additional active loudspeaker systems via the handy THRU socket. A built in mixer provides three input channels, including a switchable instrument-ready input (no DI required), and also features a dedicated 3-band EQ (bass/mid/treble) for simple, yet effective tonal control.

Put the Sound Where You Want It

Space limitations often make it impossible to place full-sized monitor wedges where they can do the most good - and passive monitors require lots of external amplifiers and processing gear to function properly. All this adds up to even more gear to move, and if you don't know what you're doing, you can easily damage passive monitors by applying too much, or even worse, too little power to them. With the B205D we've taken all the guesswork out, giving each loudspeaker its own 150-Watt, Class-D amplifier specifically designed as the perfect mate for the custom-engineered 5.25" neodymium driver.

Say Goodbye to Back-breaking Floor Wedges

By using an internal switch-mode power supply, we reduced the weight of the B205D to a mere 7.0 lbs (3.2 kg). This means that instead of bringing in your old passive floor wedges one-at-a-time, you can carry all your monitors in one trip - without even breaking a sweat! They are small enough to mount on mic stands (each speaker includes a special mic stand integration system), on a tabletop, or they can be placed directly atop a piano or electronic keyboard.

Class-D Technology Delivers High Power, Low Weight

Instead of operating relatively continuously like Class AB circuits, Class-D amps switch on and off thousands of times per second, delivering power only when needed. In other words, the amplifier is either fully on or fully off, which significantly reduces the power losses in the output devices.

When used in conjunction with switching mode power supplies, our Class-D amplifiers provide tremendous dynamic punch and superior fidelity. The resulting speakers systems are much lighter, making them easy to transport and set up. Our no-compromise design means your B205Ds deliver full power with incredible fidelity all night long, without the need for rest cycles.

Custom-Engineered Drivers

Let's face it; the drivers (otherwise known as speakers) are the only part of a sound system you actually hear. So when it comes to ours, we don't cut any corners. While some of our competitors outsource theirs, we custom-design and build our speakers from scratch. We wind our own voice coils, process the paper pulp into cones and even machine our own speaker back plates and frames. This enables us to control the quality, keep production costs down and frankly, to make better components. The premium-grade 5.25" neodymium driver was designed specifically and optimized solely for use in the B205D.

Instant PA System

With just a single B205D loudspeaker system and a microphone, you can set up an instant, high-quality sound system. Thanks to the built-in preamp section, you just connect a dynamic mic and raise and lower the volume with the LEVEL control. Plug in your sound source (CD or MP3 player), place the speaker on a tabletop or mic stand and power up. It's just that easy. And if you need more coverage, you can chain together as many as you like via the convenient LINK OUTPUT XLR connector.

Stereo Music System

You can even use two B205Ds for stereo playback of your MP3, CD or cassette deck without any additional hardware - pretty cool for playing background music or making announcements. Just plug the appropriate stereo "breakout" adapter (not included) into your deck's output jack, run one cable to each loudspeaker and set the Level and EQ controls the same on both B205Ds. Voilà, instant party!

Marvelous Monitoring

When it comes to live monitoring, it just doesn't get any more personal than this. With the B205D, you can literally put the sound where you want it - and the sound quality will simply astound you! It is small and light enough to mount on a mic stand (it comes with an integration kit that even works with boom stands), yet powerful enough to be used as a small, high-quality PA system. The built-in 3-channel mixer provides tremendous versatility and even allows additional systems to be linked as slaves.

Value

The EUROLIVE B205D provides highquality sound, tremendous functionality and versatility for very little dough. Best of all, since the B205D is so compact and lightweight, making it easy for you to load in or out at the gig. Compare the B205D to the competition and you'll own BEHRINGER with money to spare!

I do presentations a lot and other times need a mini combo to hook an instrument and just enjoy, I did a little bit of research online but found two products that could meet this need, one was the fender and the other was this behringer eurolive B205D, I decided to go for this because it was about half the cost and I felt it's also a good brand. I must state categorically that this was the best sub $200 I spent in 2010. My God, this stuff blows me sky high, men it has the juciest, cleanest, punchiest power of any mini combo that I have even seen. It compares even to my Boss Speakers in output quality. I used it with a wireless microphone for presentations and the audio quality is the best I have ever heard my self. I hooked it up with my iPod and it's like i had a gig ready to go, I even hooked it up also with my musical instrument and the sound was even better. The sound also is so loaded with sweetness at times I wonder how such high decibels can be bursting forth from such a small device. The housing also is so good it looks like what will bounce around with no fear of damage for many years to come. Also the item just weighs at a basic 3.2kilos, you can even carry it with you anywhere and no one will even know you are carrying anything of such. The other reviewer said something about distorts when the volume exceeds the middle, I think he needs to check his hardware properly because this stuff does not distort the sounds in anyway that I have seen even though I do not raise the volume knob too high because the sound may become unbearably loud as neighbors may begin to complain. Everyone who has seen it in action all want to buy it off me right away or want to order theirs immediately.Read more ›

This monitor lets me hear myself sing on stage even with loud guitars and drums. I don't blow out my voice anymore. This is a great investment and I'm glad I made it. I'm going to buy another because it is so good. I run my mic into this unit, then use the out on the back of this unit to go to the PA. It works flawlessly. You can also plug in two other devices such as Acoustic guitar or an MPEG player. It can be used as a stand alone because it is very loud. I never have to worry about feedback anymore, this device can get very loud before it starts feeds back. It's tiny in size, light weight, has a three band EQ, has three channels and has phantom power. It's perfect.

It's loud enough to keep up w/ a drum kit.
I use it at restaurants & small clubs for a pa system while performing as a duo -guitar / bass
It rattles a bit if you have to turn it up.
The sound quality is decent.
The inputs for the microphone / quarter inch jack are nice.

For a solo performance, you could easily run an iPod, Vocals & guitar through it at the same time.

There aren't any built in effects but I simply added an old echo pedal in line & solved that.

It's small, & light .
Fits on a mic stand.
Don't try to use the adapter to mount the boom out of the top of the unit - you'll be fighting with it all night long - bring an extra mic stand.

I would reccomend it to anyone & would buy another if I lost it.

I play 1-2 nights a week in a midi-assisted duo. Our PA is a pair of Mackie 15" Thumps (powered) on the floor and Behringer 12" B212D (powered) on stands with a Mackie board. We adjust the PA to the room by adding or reducing the number of powered speakers. In larger rooms we have a regular pair of floor monitors but in smaller rooms where you are stuck in a corner between the coat rack and the waiters station (you know the spot where they generously removed two small tables) we don't have space for floor monitors. These smaller jobs have become much more common and I needed a compact yet powerful monitor. Since we work with midi sound modules to reproduce the drums, bass and assorted extra instuments, it is very important that we hear these sounds clearly. The Behringer monitors do the job well. The overall sound is clean and clear, the speakers are light and portable and for me the boom stand adapter works well. I compared the Behringers to their "clone" the Mackie SRM 150 and frankly I couldn't hear a major difference with my MP3 player playing through them. Obviously Behringer cloned the Mackie's and did a good job. They have all of the same inputs and outputs as the Mackie's and look almost exactly the same. I have owned a pair of Behringer B21D powered speakers for about three years now and they have been knocked over and mistreated (accidentally) and still work great every night so I am a fan of Behringer gear. In the end the real difference was the price. The Behringer's go for $150.00 while the Mackie's go for about $250.00. The choice was simple; since I couldn't hear (or see) a major difference I bought the Behringer's. I have only had them for about two months but I have been pleased so far.Read more ›

The Bheringer B205D was quite a pleasant surprise. Although I tested it beforehand at home first before a live gig, I was quite impressed with it's performance and reserve volume once running live for keeping up with the background noise that I am constantly exposed to. I ran 2 signals, my main mix of the Tracks and Vocals and another channel of just the Guitar. I was able to adjust the volume of each as my requirements for singing or guitar accompanyment varied with different tracks.

Through out the 4 hours that I used it, there was no problem with heat build up or distortion. I found that the tone controls were effective in getting the sound that I needed for the mix. I also tried daisy chaining it, which worked out fine. I think it will also come in handy for practicing, without having to set up my other mixer, just to play tracks, guitar and a microphone.

I was only going to give it 4 stars instead of 5, because I wish it had come with a longer power cable. Although I had a longer spare available in my reserve mix of cables and adapters, a bit longer would have been nice, but that's a bit petty.
