This amp sounds great.

The Bugera BC15 is a great practice amp that could also handle a garage session--if I ever wanted to call the old band back together for a jam.

I wish I had found this earlier. Like last poster said" Buy this instead of any digital amp for your first amp." This amp is basic on dials but very big on sound. Blows my digital Berginger out of the water. For 15 watts, this thing will vibrate some walls and floors. For the price it beats out even higher class tube amps with effects. Just use pedals and save money. You will not be sorry for this purchase. About ime someone made a affordable tube amp.

I've been playing around with this thing for three days now and I have no complaints. It is solidly constructed, portable, and capable of filling an apartment with quality sound. So far I have been able to match tones to Black Sabbath, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rush, Spoon, Radiohead, Chet Atkins, almost Hendrix on Hey Joe, and Jack White. And it didn't take much. And I used no effects. Just a Hagstrom Viking plugged into it.

It will not do death metal--without bringing your own effects to the fold. But it does classic tube drive admirably. Good warmth and fuzz if you want it, and also good fat clean tones if you want it. Brilliant little amp.

I think tube and solid state each offer benefits--obviously, or they wouldn't make both. But a tube preamp (like here) with the stable output of a solid state amp works in this package. You can pay a lot more for all tube and not best the quality sound of this practice amp.

I also like that on such a budget model with a tube they included a nice headphone out option. The input for jamming along is nice too, if you need that. I personally like to crank the stereo up and play along, but sometimes people are sleeping, so who knows.

This amp offers enough settings to be truly versatile (including a mid filter cut) and the guts to go snarling Texas boogie or elegant composure to render beautiful clean jazz or country tones. And just about everything in between.

Highly recommended. I expect the sound quality will progress as the tube is played in as with all things tube ultimately do.

Note: I purchased it on Amazon (best price I found new), but played around in a music store before deciding.

I'm surprised nobody has done a review on this. This amp sounds great. This amp has a great tube sound with the 12AX7 preamp and boy is it loud. The clean sound is great and the overdrive with the shift button is excellent for classic rock. For heavy metal, I run this through a Digitech RP255 and I get endless tonal capabilities. I reccommend this over any solid state amp. It is a steal for $100.

Dont be fooled by its size, It does deliver a great sound. I recommend this amp for those who want to have a guitar session and live in apt complex, doesnt need to be loud to sound big.

First things first; I may not have the keenest ear, and to say I'm a "guitar player" is a gross exaggeration of the term. Until recently I had barely picked up a guitar since 1988, and that was my dad's old Harmony and his old Silvertone tube amp (I still have them both). When the old Silvertone began to administer a mild shock if you touched a ground while holding the guitar. I thought it best to put it aside until it was repaired. Twenty five years later; enter my beautiful new Epiphone Les Paul, I started playing it through an iPhone iRig. Which is really a handy device that works well. But I missed the glorious noise of the old Silvertone. I still plan to have it repaired, but I got a great deal on this little Bugera so I thought I'd give it a go. This little thing ROCKS! I am well pleased with it, it has great sound, seems very well built and is more than capable of convincing the neighbors that I should most definitely, stick to my day job. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a vintage kind of sound, although it lacks the tremolo of my old Silvertone, and the built in effects of modern digital amps. It is IMHO a great value, I can't imagine being dissatisfied with this little amp.

This is a great amp. I truly enjoy it. I was extremely skeptical about buying it online, especially with some pretty lackluster demos of the amp on YouTube. However, I am glad that I made the purchase as this amp sounds a lot better than you would expect. Let's go through some various aspects of this amp.

Looks (3/5)
This amp certainly won't be winning the coveted "Sexiest Amp of The Year Award." Also, the amp pictured on Amazon will most likely be different from the one you receive -- mine was. Instead of black corner-covers, my amp has light-brown corner-covers. The black screws are chrome screws instead, and the handle matches the corner-covers in color. The power LED is now red, rather than blue. The nicest looking part, in my opinion, is the speaker mesh. It has a nice sparkle to it. It's not a bad looking amp, but it isn't the prettiest one either.

Sound (5/5)
I don't think that any amp in this price range could beat the sound of the BC15. Yeah, it isn't a true valve amplifier, but it has a nice sparkle to it. It is most definitely a vintage style amp though. You can get other sounds out of it by using effects pedals -- which it takes extremely well -- but it is vintage style amp at heart. The "Shift" button gives the amp a sound that reminds me of old '50s Rock and Roll. The "Gain" button is pretty self-explanatory. This gain itself has a very Vox-ish sound to it. The master volume makes this amp a great bedroom amplifier. I haven't tried playing it in an auditorium, but I have played it in a very large room (about 30x30, if I had I to guesstimate) for band practice, and the Master volume was less than half-way up. That tells me that there is plenty of headroom on this amp. This is all with the stock tube as well.
