Bad Buzz,
This review is from: Behringer BT108 Ultra-Compact 15-Watt Bass Amplifier (Electronics)
Nice, compact design and generally decent sound for a small amp ... however.... the amp gives off a very fuzzy distortion on A notes. In fact, it is so bad that you really can't hear the note, just the buzz.
Tested using different basses and settings and still the same problem. Returned - too bad because I really like this little practice amp otherwise, but the fuzz on the A frequency is just too distracting.

Definitely lower quality than the Fender Rumble 15 Amp I replaced it with. It's been recommended that I try a Roland next.

Should've read the other reviews before I bought it. Too late now since my return window closed. (my fault)
This amp isn't what I was expecting. Bad buzz on nearly all the low end settings. I guess it's okay if you plug in the headphones and keep the volume down, but it's really no good if you're trying to play along with songs from a different audio source. The buzz is just too annoying. Look elswhere for a low price practice amp. I was too eager to get the free shipping I guess...

Short lifespan, rough sound,

Avoid this amp if you want to play bass. I've had mine for less than a year and its kaput. Not much else to say, get something durable that will give good sounds without all the buzzing that this amp produces. When an amp fails, you can blame the bassist, but an amp should be able to handle regular usage.

So far holding up well... sounds good enough for the price and is light enough to basically go anywhere, which is exactly what my daughter needed.

I have been playing guitar for 20+ years and have recently picked up bass since we lost the bass player in our band... I previously have gone with Crate and Peavey amps for guitar and have been pleased with them. I had no experience with Behringer and bought this little baby just on the basis of price and features. I am very well pleased! It is much smaller than most other 15 watt amps, which made the guys in my band laugh when I showed up to practice with it, but they stopped laughing when I fired that little baby up! Perfect solidly constructed practice amp. I see others have written about a buzzing noise, but I have NO IDEA what they are talking about as mine is VERY CLEAN! Perhaps there was a bad batch that went out. It has a 4 band equaliter that works fine. I have never used the CD input. No distortion channel, but hey, what kind of features do you want for under a 100 bucks? I am so pleased with it that I recently picked up a Behringer BXL450 from Amazon. I have only had it a couple of weeks, but so far it's been great. I highly reccomend Behringer products for bass amplification. |
