Amazing product, amazing price. Get one!,

Totally worth it. If you've ever had to fix an audio cable, you need one of these. At the price, they are less than half of similar products from other places (with the exact same chip and internals, just a different casing!). Sure you need to know about your cables and have to think about what the LEDs are telling you, but that's OK, that's why you bought the thing anyways.
The test tones are useful, but a little harsh sounding. (I think they might be square-wave, or modified-sine wave, so they doesn't sound that great). Intuitive interface. The main switch turns on easily in a bag (simply fixed with a piece of Gaff tape). Otherwise, no issues. If you are an audio tech. Get one now. Avoid the embarrassment of your musicians or speakers not being heard because of a dead XLR cable. Check your entire lot and fix or replace them now. It's great because you can test any combination of connectors on your cables (ie. XLR to 1/4 phone, XLR to XLR, TRS to miniphone, etc, etc). Oh, and the intermittent test feature is fantastic! Even helps you find RF noise on long audio-snake runs.

Another Great Product from Behringer,

I needed a cable tester to troubleshoot my system. I called the company who built my 100' audio snake and asked the tech guy there what cable tester they use on their bench. He told me that they use the Behringer CT-100. If it's good enough for the people who build my equipment, I think it's probably good enough for me to use at home. I have been purchasing new Behringer gear for just over 2 years, and not one product of their's has ever failed me.
This CT-100 looks and feels exactly like my friend's Ebtech cable tester which cost twice as much money. I can't tell the difference between the two other than the logo and color. The CT-100 and the Ebtech both are solid metal cases which should hold up just fine in my gig bag. They both perform the same tests and functions. As far as I can tell, the only difference is in the price. Save yourself some money and get this unit.

I have needed this for 40 years and it paid for itself in the first 15 minutes that I used it. I tested my XLR mic cables, TRS patch cords, and even my stereo headphone extensions (just connect a pre-tested TRS cable to the female end of the extension to make it Male-Male and connect it input to output). OR, just use the tone generator to test both the cable AND the headphones simultaneously. Especially handy if you make your own cables, like I do. Finds shorts, opens, miswires, and intermittents. Even tests cables with different families on each end. Now I don't have to root through my junk box to find something to jam onto the connector pins and then juggle my multimeter with three hands to test cables. Eliminates operator error, bulk testing procrastination, mountains of time, and that "Oh Spit!" in the field. I do indie film, and there's nothing like finding your last mic cable is open when there's no place to plug in your soldering iron. You can rest easier by quickly testing your cables before and after every shoot. Yes, I know it's a knock-off of by another maker, but paying 1/3 of that other price soothes some of the guilt. Indispensable piece of gear. Buy it (or its more expensive twin) right now - or else!
