I use this as a parametric equalizer with my home theater subwoofer and Room Eq Wizard (REW) and I am very pleased with the results. Was fairly simple for me to figure out how to configure it using the included instructions and the BFD guide you can find on the internet. I leave it on all day and in the month I have owned it have had no problems. The only thing I would mention is that if you are not rack mounting the device, unscrewing the metal rack mount brackets from the sides of the device will reveal large holes that expose the rear of the switches and display screen.

I think that the DSP1124P is a discontinued product, yet, still on the market(at least at the time of my purchase. This is my second DSP1124P and the reason I bought it again is because of the primary purpose of the unit; its capability in eliminating feedback and personalizing parameters. Yes, it can't do it by itself. A little tweeking and prep-work is needed, but, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. It works in our setting....the first unit is still working perfectly following years of being a part of my set-up.

While not a magic fix-all for feedback problems, this unit does seem to make things better, especially in the monitors. And at this price it is definitely worth a look!

Works wonders for live stage monitor EQ. As with other Behringer processors though, there are little selector switches located almost on top of the I/O connectors that can get accidentally switched.
Once you get a knack for setting up the filters, the unit is a very useful tool. I like to use my own program that utilizes the first 9 filters as one shot and locked filters that I set at home by pointing my mics right into my monitor speakers. I link the channels and utilize the last three filters in the auto mode. This saves me from having to create feedback during setup at gigs and generally I have no feedback issues that speaker/mic placement won't fix. I find when I bypass/engage the Feedback Destroyer the audible effect of the very narrow eq bands is negledgible. That is to say that my monitors don't sound overly equalized, they just don't feed back. The manual is a little fuzzy but the tech folks at Behringer were very helpful. In fact, the printed document that I got from the techs made a great manual.

Haven't had a problem with feedback since installing it, a very advanced piece of equipment. The advanced workings of it is beyond me but I just set it at the basic setting numebr one and let it do its thing.

This is the second BFD I've purchased and it was for subwoofer EQ duties in a home theater. I have not kept up with the scene but I think this is still the one device that enthusiasts turn to when they want to beat their subwoofer's response into submission. It's so popular that Behringer discontinued it once but was forced to bring it back for sale. Combined with EQ Wizard and a decent instrumentation mic such as the Nady CM-100, you can get results that are far superior than the all-in-one sub EQ units from the expensive manufacturers.

You will at the least need a mic pre amp for this to operate properly. This is not a plug in and play unit. Beautifully designed and the overall quality is first rate.
