The faders are, after all, the heart and soul of each mixer. With their 500,000 cycles life expectancy, they outperform standard faders more than twenty-fold. VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) technology goes hand in hand with Behringer's faders -- audio signal does not run directly through them; instead, the faders only provide a control voltage to the VCAs. I was surprised at how this mixer performed for its price. I normally dont low ball on my gear..but I am teaching my wife to play, and wanted to save my equipment and cross fader. This mixer has some cool features. It has a cool quick cut switch for scratching..but its located in a horible place. The fader isnt glide smooth...but its smooth. I also didnt like the material that the mixer was made of...it like metal that feels like it has hairline lines in it. When my fingernals hit it whle using the the fader..it sends chills down my spine. lol...other than that though...its a very solid mixer for the prixe...and it looks great.
