Behringer does it again with this great headphone distribution station. I was using a Rolls and found it could not handle even half of it's capacity. The HA4700 is amazing. Very versatile and clean sounding. Every studio should have one.

Not much to say, it works fine. But Headphone outputs are noisy. And as usual Behringer does not spend too much money on power supply filtering or noise-arm components.
But I am OK for the price I payed.

I bought this unit from my local music store a couple of weeks ago. It sat for a week in the box and when I took it out, I found that one of the main input channels was dead. Both the 1/4" and lo Z inputs on the right main input did not function. I returned the unit for another and spent a good hour checking it out. The second one passed. This is 2 for 2 for the only Berhinger products I own. See my review on the FBQ3102 EQ. The first one of those I got was also DOA. Not a good sign but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. Other than that, I am quite happy with what it does.

We had been using an Alto HPA6 for headphone distribution with mixed results. Customers complained of uneven levels. The Behringer Power-play HA4700 doesn't have as many out puts but, it is cheep, and the levels can be balanced via front panel controls. The noise floor is less impotent then balance in a working studio in this case. If one is looking for boutique headphone distribution, look else ware, but if you need fast and cheep. This is the way to go. We have used it in the console for a week. Customers haven't complained about noise or levels. Good to go. Back to work.

For years we've been using a variety of headphone amplifiers for our broadcast and recording businesses. I originally bought this Behringer powerplay Pro-XL because I needed a rack mount solution, I got that but I also got a lot more. I never would have thought that this amplifier would sound so much better than the amps we've been using, it sounds like there is an extra octave of reproduction in the bass listening with this piece, due to the extended headroom capability. The sound is fuller and much better with this headphone amp. I love all the LED meters too. This amplifier has plenty of drive and can power any impedance of headphones with brain-numbing loudness if that's what you're into. For us, it's just a great sounding and versatile piece of gear. We quickly bought another one for a second workstation.

For the price and what it does I would say it's worth every penny. It's built like it'll last way longer than the rack you put it in. I've used this both for larger shows with my band and now I continue to use this in my studio in conjunction with my firewire interface. It's a great product and anyone doing audio production should have one, especially for the price.

It was EXACTLY what I needed to complete my studio. Works great and reasonably priced.
