4.0 out of 5 stars Great for karaoke with DVD player. Voice canceling is a joke.
If you just need to add microphones and sing to a music without voice it is great.
Looks nice, has some extra adjustments compare to cheaper units.

However if you really think if will remove voice from a regular song - it will not.
Like not at all :)

I do not need this feature so I bought it kind of knowing that it will not work...

3.0 out of 5 stars Noise and clip issue at higher output level
If you set the output level a little bit more than the middle point, you can hear static noise if you are close to the speaker. Originally I thought it is due to inferior quality of the input cable from DVD or Mp3 player to the mixer. I bought a high quality Monster cable and replace the low-quality cable with it. Same problem. If you set the output level at the middle,...

I do not need this feature so I bought it kind of knowing that it will not work.
The reason is that removing voice from a song is extremely complex procedure
and I did not expect this not expensive unit to do it.

So, if you do not need the voice canceling - buy it.
If you need it - do not, but I do not thing that you will find a device at a reasonable price which does it.

I was hoping just for something that had some voice effects at least. The little mixer I was using did not produce great volume and I thought it was a factor of the microphone. This little karaoke mixer is clear and produces good quality effects especially at this price. I tried the voice cancel feature on a song. It works okay, cutting out instruments as well, but I did not expect magic. If you really want to sing a song but don't have a karaoke version it at least gives you the option. While there are other features that would be useful (optical audio passthrough or ability to fine tune the voice cancel) I would not want to be forced to pay more. For the price you can't really go wrong!

Nice sound quality.Easy set up. My 8 years old daughter loves it. She connects it to her bom-box and ipod. I would recommend it to any one who loves karaoke.

If you set the output level at the middle, the music output will be much less loud and vibrant than connecting your DVD/MP3 player directly to amplifier. But the problem is, in addition to the noise issue, if you put the output level above the middle point, the output could be easily over the maximum output and the sound will be clipped by the mixer. Very disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little unit, June 16, 2009

I was skeptical about this but when I received it and hooked it up to my amp I was amazed at how great it works on vocals. The reverb is great and I only have to turn up the level to about 3. I really do not care for the echo and have not used the voice canceller but I am sure it will work great. The price is great and so is the product. Great for home recordings which is what I use it for.

I bought this mixer for home karaoke use. I already had all the components: a computer to play music (e.g. karaoke versions of songs on YouTube, or my subscription to the karaoke website SingSnap.com), a couple of cheap mics, a nice home stereo system, a big screen TV for a computer monitor (nice big lyrics!), and a half dozen friends ready to sing! :-) I just needed a way to combine the input from the computer and the mics out to the stereo for instant karaoke. And voila! This little thing fit the bill perfectly!

It was a cinch to set up and connect all the pieces to it. Everything sounded good: the volume, the reverb, the overall sound quality. Maybe we won't any prizes for sounding like perfect digital recordings, but for home karaoke use, this mixer worked remarkably well. The fact that it doesn't take up much space and can easily be stowed away when not in use, plus its relatively low price, are just added bonuses.

Quality product. The reverb feature gives it more live feel than echo. The built is however very light and feels like a toy. But don't mistaken as this product performs outstanding job as a mixer.

If you are looking for a simple to use karaoke mixer. This will do it just right. Just connect your mic and audio source, routed to your existing home theater receiver - (YOU MUST SET YOUR AMPLIFIER TO STEREO MODE)- and there you go. The reverb effect (enhances your vocal voice) is as great as any expensive power audio mixer. All my friends were so surprised that such a small box could be that good.
It would be great if there is a seperate volume control for the music source but it's no big deal.

i just purchased this and so far, i don't have problems with this. It's good enough for home karaoke with you and your family. just connect it to a good amplifier or speaker and you're good to go. I give 4 stars because the echo effect is not that good but still works well. =)

Well I just got this today and it sounds really good!! If you have a good loud home stereo system then your good to go. I'm very impressed with this little machine!! The voice canceling is a not perfect like others have said although it did work with a few songs I tried, it must depend what track the vocals were recorded on. So yes if you want a good mixer for karaoke and don't need the vocals blocked out then get this. I plugged my net-book into it and bam! I was on You-tube karaoke songs with lyrics and everything, and I tried my own karaoke songs I had and they sound really good through this machine. I also bought two 2 Nady SP-4C dynamic microphones for 10$ each from Amazon with this and they sound great and at ten bucks each with free shipping I don't know how they can do it. Only complaint is with Amazon, they are really getting slow in getting the items shipped out lately, this took 8 days to receive because it took Amazon like 5 days to get it in the mail, reminds me of way back, that's why I used to hate buying online, but anyway, get this and the ten dollar mics and you'll be singing the slow shipping blues away lol.
