Absolutely astonishing! The detail and stereo image nearly knocked me off the chair!! I'm currently using Tannoy Reveal passive monitors and those will be my B monitor system, The 1C's being 1st. I had a relatively good experience with the M-audio DX4 monitors but found the level of detail and stereo image a big disappointment. However, the level a bass was a much better than the 1Cs. On the Berhringer's, the bass response is surprisingly very weak. I am using them in combination with a 12' sub so this is not a problem. However, reports from the Truth series monitors reveal that the "pumping and woofing " effect is also present on the 1Cs especially 100-90 hz and lower. And a huge setback is that the 1Cs ARE NOT SHEILDED!!! HUGE design flaw as these can't be placed anywhere near computer monitors. This being said, these are still one hell of a speaker. The fact that these are passive may be a problem for some but with minimal amplification, these monitors are a winner! Very impressed indeed and would highly recommend them. Beware though that again, Behringer makes no mention of the lack of magnetic shielding which is almost a standard now in the age of digital recording.
