4.0 out of 5 stars Review of UB 502 Eurorack
Well if you need lots of functions and a bus mix for effects this is not for you. 3.0 out of 5 stars not very good sound quality
The device works ok, but the sound quality is not what I expected.
When I plugg in my guitar directly to the Amp, it sound way better than pluggin it first to the mixer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review of UB 502 Eurorack, August 19, 2006
This review is from: Behringer UB502 Eurorack UB502 Mixer (5 Inputs) (Electronics)
Well if you need lots of functions and a bus mix for effects this is not for you. But if you play say some small coffie shops or small gigs where you dont need alot of inputs or what you need is to run a iPod or some other device and 1 mic line (this does not have phantom power) then this is for you. I use this for very small gigs where I play guitar flamenco into a Fishman Aura which then goes into my Trace TA 50R UK model into line one, then for the second line on the amp I run the Mic line to the UB 502 and plug a Shure Mic, Line 6 PodXT Pro, iPod, and a Mac G4 Powerbook, it works great becase I dont use any effects nor do I need to ajust the tone. Its small to fits in the palm of your hand about two times the size of Plam Piolt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing for how small it is!, January 9, 2006

I've wanted a mixer for a long time now, and I finally got this one. At first I wanted the next biggest one, the UB802, I think. When I was thinking about when it when it would come. When it did, I was almost unsure what it was when I saw the box! It's so tiny- I thought it would be much bigger (Guess I didn't look very hard at the product description!)
It's amazing the sound you can get with this and even a cheap pair of speakers and a microphone (I use a Behringer mic, also. Ultravoice.)
I'm quite happy with this and if you're looking for a mixer on a budget, this one will be amazing for a small home studio. However, if you want to make something bigger, you'll want to get one of the bigger models in this series (Behringer UB).

I'm thrilled!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid little mixer, October 28, 2007

I work in the field of on-line education, so I sometimes find myself needing to pull audio from different sources into my computer. This unit handles multiple inputs well, has a variety of input types (XLR, 1/4" phone plugs, RCA jacks), and does a good job of adjusting input levels between different sources. It seems to be pretty quiet, too -- doesn't add any extraneous noise to the audio that I can tell. It's also portable, an important feature when you may need to record something on location.

Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I the doctor ordered, December 7, 2006
This review is from: Behringer UB502 Eurorack UB502 Mixer (5 Inputs) (Electronics)
I wanted to get something simple to plug a mike with a XLR adapter into our computer to record an acoustic guitar and voices. This was perfect. It has a 2 band EQ, which made the guitar sound great, when I tweaked it a bit. Works like a charm. If you don't want to spend a lot of bucks for features you don't need, this is the thing for you. Oh, did I mentiom how nice and compact it is?

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Mixer for Small Jobs, September 5, 2007

I needed a mixer for home use to service an electric piano, guitar and a mic. I am thoroughly impressed with the size and output from the device. It is small, approx 5.5" by 7", so finding a home for it is easy. The super cheap NADY SP1 Microphone works great with it. The output is noise free.

My expectations were fairly low based on the price, but were exceeded immensely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Behringer Eurorack UB502 Mixer, August 20, 2007

I would recommend all Behringer products for anyone who is a D.J., Musician, Producer, Composer, Sound Engineer, etc., etc. Made in Germany says it all.

This mixer is great for recording vocals as its pre-amp gives a very clean sound. Also, as usual with Behringer, I got an excellent price for an excellent product. For those who want the best equipment at the lowest prices, Behringer cannot be beat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small and attractive, October 25, 2007
This review is from: Behringer UB502 Eurorack UB502 Mixer (5 Inputs) (Electronics)
This is perfectly sized for my audio podcast and voice recording applications. Good, solid, basic. It's all I need.

One caveat: if your microphone requires phantom power, be sure to get a separate power supply--I must've picked the only Behringer model that doesn't do it!

Otherwise, it's a keeper.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor sound quality ... avoid, November 17, 2010

I was piping music directly into a pair of old Mackie SRM450s from an E-Mu 0404 hooked up to my laptop. Sounded pretty decent for entry level equipment.

Then we decided to have a woman talking over the music. So we put this .. thing ... between the 0404 and the Mackies, and plugged a Shure SM57 mic into line 1.
Her voice came out of the Mackies so muffled that i sounded like she was talking through a pillow. Completely lost the high end on the music I was playing. Getting good enough sound required turning up the Hi EQ knobs all the way up, and the Lo EQ knobs all the way down on both the Line 1 input and the main outs.

Behringer makes good enough amps and their DSP equipment is a category price/value leader, but they can't do cheap analog mixers with decent sound quality.
