A Good Beginner's Guitar,

A good first electric guitar. It has a decent sound, and you can make a lot of adjustments on the amp that make it sound like anything from an acoustic all the way through a heavy metal guitar. I've had a lot of fun with this, once I got it up and running.
The guitar looks identical to a Stratocaster that is pictured in one of my guitar books. However, there are some problems with the setup that I would like to point out. First, the documentation is sketchy in some areas. If you are new to playing an electric, you may have trouble getting the thing to work initially. Behringer has a support line, but when I called they weren't able to help me. I took the thing down to a local guitar shop where the shop owner was able to get me straightened out. The package is missing a method of tuning the strings, and it doesn't come with any such niceties as an extra set of strings. Make friends with the owner of your local music store and check out your options. My guitar has a bad 8th fret - the D and B strings buzz unless the strings are set as high above the fret board as possible. When you set the strings lower, it makes the guitar easier to play, especially up the board, but I can't do that with this guitar. Some of the pickup settings seem overly noisy (static). If you are any good at all, you will probably outgrow this guitar in a few months. At the price, though, it is something to get you started so you can get a feel for an electric and figure out which direction you really want to go in. Bottom line - a decent guitar for the money. But you still need to find someone who is local to serve as a guide.

Before buying this amazing package I read a lot of reviews and studied a lot of different other guitar packages and what I found out, and came to realize is that although some of the other packages may on the outside LOOK better, and cost more, this package right here shoots em clean out of the water. This guitar, if strings are replaced plays AMAZINGLY well for it's price, the amp for a practice amp is second to none, top quality all the way. You really do get a GREAT guitar and amp for a small price..you simply cant beat it. But again, lemme make it clear that you SHOULD replace the strings ASAP as that is this packages ONLY fault. Now, go buy it and have fun with this great guitar package.

my friend bought this pack a few months ago as his first electric guitar after playing an acoustic for half a year. first off, i give full marks to the amplifier, it is an ideal size for someone jsut starting and it sounds incredible for the size/price!!! this pack also comes with everything needed to get started. unfortunately thats pretty much the only two good sides to this pack. the guitar is made okay but the sound was not very good (even considering the price range) and the playability was off. the action was far too high and due to fret buzz couldnt be lowered. also, one of the frets had a big dip in it which meant it couldnt be played on a couple strings. the strap that comes in the pack is also useless as the leather is so soft that it can come off while playing (just make sure you dont use it on a decent guitar)me and my friend tried out the cheapest fender model, a squire affinity fat strat (with bridge humbucker) and it was far far better than this guitar. great playability, very neatly made and a sound that was well out of its price rage in my oppinion. i suggest someone looking at this pack buy the amp and a better guitar seperately. straps and leads arent expensive and can also be bought seperately. if you go this way i think that you wont need to upgrade anything (exept perhaps a larger amplifier) until you really do need high end equipment.

Really Great Starter Pack,
This review is from: Behringer V-Tone Electric Guitar and Amp Pack (Electronics)
I'm new to the whole guitar thing and wanted to buy something cheap to see if I would enjoy it. This guitar is worth much more then it's selling for, it has beautiful sound and went WAY past my expectations. I am curruntly in the VERY beginner stage but my experianced friend played on it and it sounded awesome! I now chose to continue my playing and I think I'm really gonna enjoy it. I think this is great for anyone but I recommend this guitar pack to the beginners like myself only, any experianced player is going to want a more expensive higher quality guitar [but I dont know if I'm going to get a new guitar because this one sounds so good].

insanely good value,

Overall, the guitar has pretty good tuners and pickups. The neck on mine wasn't very tight.
You have to set up the guitar out of the box (action, pickup height, intonation) but then it plays pretty well. I also touched up the edges of the frets with a file, put some danish oil (carefully) on the fretboard, re-did some of the wiring with co-ax cable to reduce hum, tightened the neck screws and put on better strings. Now it sounds great with good sustain. You may have to tweak the truss rod, be careful and only turn 1/8 turn per day!!! (not like I did...) The amp has the same distortion settings (3 amps, 3 gains, 3 speaker sims) as some of their larger amps. I has plenty of power for the 8" speaker (turning it up makes the speaker basket buzz- need more mounting screws), you could probably drive a 12" with it. The cable seems cheap, but has low capacitance and won't roll off any high end response. For the money, I don't think you can beat it.

Great starting pack!,

I'm a starting guitar player, and have only had a few weeks of experience. Prior to buying this, I only knew a few simple riffs, yet guitar interested me so I decided to buy one. This package is well put together, with good starting equipment. The amp is excellent (or so I've read) for the price. Best of all, it looks just like a Strat (save for a few details)! Overall, I'd say this is a great starting package, and I'm perfectly satisfied with it. My only problems with this pack are:
1) you probably need to replace the strings 2) the strap isn't very good Other than that, I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to start learning guitar. When you get better, you can move on to better guitars, of course.

This guitar package is excellent. The amp is incredible; it completely blows away most other practice amps with great distortion-lots of cutstiomizable settings-and fairly good sustain. The guiatr itself is pretty good. However, previously mentioned by a few reviewers, the strings are very low quality. If you're not going to go out and buy an entire new set (which costs about $8), make sure you follow the manual's tuning guide (I broke my b string on the first day because I over tuned it). The manual is very easy to understand. It will show you what socket to plug the cable into with a diagram, and all sorts of other helpful tips. The only problem besides the b string breaking was that the cable stopped working after a year of extensive use. Great job Behrigner!
