4.0 out of 5 stars Cats loved it!
Out of the box, both of my kittens LOVED this condo. One of them claimed the lower level house as her home. The other enjoyed climbing to the top to lay around. I took away one star for a few minor issue that I have with the design.

1. It's a bit wobbly. I have mine against a wall... but when hte cats jump to the top level, it wobbles. I've screwed everything...

3.0 out of 5 stars Photo is misleading
The photo of this product is misleading.

1. The open ended round piece is much smaller than it looks in person. It's also very difficult to attach on with the screw provided. I left it off since having it installed actually leaves very little room below.

2. The top tier is bigger than what's seen in the photo. It's actually difficult for a cat...

I've screwed everything together tightly. I'm not sure what to make of the wobbles.

2. The scratching posts probably should have been accessible on the lower level. I saw it and I bought it... yes. But I didn't know. My cats seem to look for something to scratch when they're near it. They look up... see the posts.. and try to scratch the lower level fur instead of the posts. They don't like to go under the round cylinder to scratch.. and due to the wobble, they don't travel to the top often anymore.

3. The mouse fell off on day 1. They love it. They still play with it regularly. I tried to tie it back on, but I couldn't put it through the fur on the top. I tried tying knots off the broken off piece and they just pulled it off faster than before because the string would break. I had to remove the string because they chewed it a lot. I was worried they were going to eat it and choke. It's a cat toy. It happens. But it would be nice to be able to replace it with another somehow instead of lying a lame mouse on the upper level every so often.

[UPDATE] My cats... who I probably should have mentioned are kittens... were 3 mo and 6 mo at the time. It is now 3 months later. They've learned to jump on top to scratch the scratching posts. The top tower is leaning about 20 degrees to the left. The younger one weighs less and enjoys jumping on top and laying down after it wobbles. She gets down fine on her own. The older one won't go past the second level. The scratching posts are hanging in there! Two un-declawed cats scratching at them on a regular basis... Only a few spots that show noticeable wear (Kind of like fuzz balls on your cotton clothing).

The loop shown on the lower level is starting to come apart. They don't use this part often... but the place where the seam was is coming apart. Now that they've noticed it... I don't think it'll fare well.

Neither of my kittens seem to use the lower level. If anything.. they walk in.. and then right back out.

The mouse is long gone. I tried reattaching it a few times... but it's now gone. I was unable to retie it... and since it's been loose.. they've managed to hide it somewhere... I don't know where their toys disappear to while I'm gone...

[FINAL UPDATE] It died. Top level lasted wobbly for 4 months. Come the 5th month, The top post became a floor scratching post. I inserted the top shelf (fur to floor) under the couch. The cats use it regularly to scratch. I saved the remaining 2 levels (house and circular thing. I moved it into a corner. The cats enjoy sitting on it... I have since purchased a new cat tower. Support was one of the major things I was looking for. (2 legs per level). For some reason, finding a completely stable condo has proven to be difficult... I have found one that my cats love... 4 levels... neither bother to go on the top because it's the most unsupported. I guess they've learned ;-) At least they had the learning experience on the shorter one.

I received the cat tree condo today and put it together in about 5 minutes. It was very easy to assemble and all the hardware was available in bag. The only tool I needed was a phillips screwdriver. After putting the condo together, my 4 cats immediatley started climbing and playing and many cute pictures were taken. On a side note, one of the cats took off the mouse that was attached to the top level before we could even assemble it and will not let anyone near him. He likes it very, very, very, much. After the mouse was taken off, we attached some strings with beads in two places for them to have so fun.

The photo of this product is misleading.

1. The open ended round piece is much smaller than it looks in person. It's also very difficult to attach on with the screw provided. I left it off since having it installed actually leaves very little room below.

2. The top tier is bigger than what's seen in the photo. It's actually difficult for a cat to get to the top tier from the second tier unless they jump directly onto it. I have my condo placed next to the coffee table so my cats can just jump from there, but even then the cat needs to land perfectly.

3. The toy hanging from it is amusing but a persistent cat will snap it right off after tugging on it after a while. I had to tie the piece of string to the pole on one end and tie another toy to the other end.

I would say the good about this condo are the scratching posts and fur tends not to stick on.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT kitty condo, April 14, 2010

I received the Kitty Condo on time. I had to put it together. I am not at all mechanically inclined. The instructions were simple, with pictures. ;) All I needed was a screw-driver, no problem at all.

My cat Max LOVES it. I placed it in front of the window and he sits on top and stares out the window most of the day. Sometimes he naps in his room below. lol It was the best purchase that I have made. He quit scratching the back of my sofa and now uses 1 of the 3 scratching posts. Excellent news for me!!!

My cat is almost 8 yrs old, weighs approx 9 lbs and it is completely stable. I would definitely recommend. Actually, I will probably order another one for my son's kitty. PS. I use an old brush to remove the cat hair from it.

1.0 out of 5 stars !!!!!!!!!!STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!, July 17, 2010

This thing is a piece of junk!! It was very easy to assemble however all of the posts do not tighten enough. I have bought plenty of similar items and have never had this problem. It is so bad I wont let my 3 pound cat climb on it because im worried its going to fall apart. Then I attempted to contact the seller and they advised I can return the item for a replacement however I would be out the cost of shipping BOTH ways. This means I would be out over $34 for shipping alone which is more than the cost of the condo. They then suggested that they can ship me replacement parts for free. I agreed, so they requested a discription of my problem...I explained...and now they are in disagreement because they have never had a complaint like this. Now im not even sure they are going to ship the replacement parts!!

My suggestion !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Bother!, November 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I'd read the reviews both positive and negitive - but ultimately I thought that the price was reasonable and how bad could it be?

Well, it can be THAT bad.

What are these cat condo things but wood built with carpet or carpet type stuff stapled to them - right? Well, this is kind of flimsy pressboard and it's definately NOT carpet, it's a thin shaggier type material that I think will be scratched away in no time. Best yet - all the screws to put it together weren't there.

For various reasons I took a long time to open up the package to put it together for my (2) cats - between it having been so long and the expense of returning it I'm keeping it. I DON'T like to waste my money, but essentially in going cheap, that is exactly what I did. I went out and bought a "real" cat condo, with real wood and real carpet and the cats love it. The difference is night and day. Generally I understand the "you get what you pay for" but because I'm a smart shopper I thought this was a good buy. Well, you can't always get a deal.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unstable waste of money, July 20, 2010

My brothers cat needed something to keep him away from our dogs, so being the kind person I am I purchased this rickety piece of... It arrived quickly enough but it wasn't the easiest thing to put together and once it was put together it was way too wobbly that the cat didn't want anything to do with it. I ended up giving it away for free and purchasing a better cat tree from a store.
Don't waste your money and time on this ill manufactured cat condo.

This is a great buy for your money! Doodle immediately took to it and is her safe-zone from her "sister-puppy". It's the perfect size for an apartment and is high enough for Doodle to perch.

3.0 out of 5 stars 1st one was good, 2nd one was dissapointing..., March 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 42" Beige Cat Tree Condo Scratcher (Misc.)
I first ordered this product in December and was very happy with what I recieved. It was very sturdy and looked nice overall, and aside from the mouse falling off quickly, which is to be expected with my cat anyway, I was happy with the purchase. I ordered a second one when the first one broke(which was not related to the product itself) and I ordered it again as a replacement. The new one I recieved was very wobbly, especially the 2nd/3rd tier - one of the notches, which was screwed in on the last product, was a slip on bolt and was not secured. Also, the top tier is off center, so does not fit up against the wall properly. I was able to fix the wobble by using a hot glue gun, but was dissapointed that I had to do that at all. Overall, the first one I recieved was great and well worth the money; the 2nd, not so much.
