Having read other works on network marketing, I honestly don't think anything can come close to this one. John walks the reader through, step by step, the practical applications and procedures of SUCCESSFUL network marketing. As an added bonus, this is a generic book, geared for any individual in ANY MLM company, thus making it very useful. (Readers of this commentary should note that this book assumes that the MLM company you are in is already established, and you are seeking to become a successful distributor. It is NOT for those who wish to set up their very own network marketing company.) Even still, this book contains valuable information that you may not learn from your sponsor, but will need to have any notable degree of success in MLM. This book is an iron-clad, rock-solid, 10! Everyone should read this book whether they are in network marketing or not. This book helps you choose your path and purpose. This book should definitely be read by any business person or networker, especially Nikken distributors. I give it to all of my associates.

After reading this book, I not only learned the nuts and bolts of network marketing, but found a man with a heart for network marketers. The first few chapters dealing with purpose, changed my life. I'm proud to say I have the privilage to work with him in his Nikken downline. With network marketing on the increase, this book is a "must read".

An alternate title to Kalench's book might be: Teach by learning. Learn by teaching. He presents the concepts one needs for one's own success in a manner that is easily translated into teachings for one's downline. Examples abound; the lessons are clear, non-pretentious English. Very, very good.

If you want to make money in Network Marketing you have to learn the tricks of the trade. This book gives them to you right now. A master marketer with lots of good advise. Slightly dated since it was written before the internet, but still worth every penny.

importantly the why of Network Marketing with this treasure
chest of information. John tells you like it is
and more importantly helps you develop the fuel to keep your business
on track well into the future. I highly recommend
this book to anyone who is interested in starting into the
industry of network marketing. It provides the answers that
you may not learn from your sponsor, but need to
if you want to succeed in this industry. If you are
looking for a book that can inspire both you and your organization
read and practice what is in this book.

I met John Kalench before he died of cancer. What a 'down to earth' successful man! His goal was to have one million friends in his lifetime and I'm sure he did just that...I was one. I was inspired by his book and encouraged to dream again and help others acheive their dreams. There's so much to learn from John and this book. He is very motivational and has lived his concepts. This book would benefit any self-employed, direct sales person or just the person who wants to learn how to dream big dreams again and inspire others! I even has his autograph in my own book:)

I recently re-read this book and found that the ideas in the book are still relevant today. The 11 chapters encompass all that is required to know in NWM from defining your aims and goals to training your new distributors.
The only reason it only gets 4 stars is that it needs to be updated to today's world of instant communication, the Internet etc. Recruiting on the net is the way NOW and the book needs to reflect this.
Also, a lot of new types of NWM compensation plans have appeared in that time e.g. binaries, 2-ups etc. A discussion (and critique) of these would be a worthy addition to any new edition.
