I like this book. I like the Bond books and movies, and I like the overall mentality of both the books and movies and of this book, that life is for living, and just because you become an adult, you don't stop being a bit of a kid and having fun. The book explains how to play various card games, and all about alcohol, which I really appreciate. For instance the differences between the various cocktails, and what is whiskey and what is bourbon, etc.

The one thing I miss is guns and martial arts, but the author explains that that will come in later volumes. As will languages.

This book covers a lot of James Bond-type activities, written by a guy who's really out there doing it. His description of bungee jumping off of the GoldenEye dam in Switzerland made me feel like I was there. He actually did it. I actually won't get close to that dam, not even to watch. I liked the chapters on flying and poker especially. I'll be looking forward to the second volume of this. It definitely got me into the mood of getting out there into the adventure, dam excluded.

A great read and inspiration. Anxiously waiting for volume 2 and more advice and adventure from Mr Darlington. A must for all Bond fans

I first came across the "Being James Bond" podcast and forum shortly after Quantum of Solace was released and was instantly hooked. The podcast covered a number of, if not all, the skills shown by 007 based primarily on the movies. As well as pure entertainment, it provides an introduction for the listener to decide whether to learn any particular skill. The book is based on research for a number of different podcast episodes and acts as a handy reference guide, first in paperback and now in Kindle format you can carry it with you at all times!

"Being James Bond" is so much more than a "how-to" book. It's a treasure trove of Bond trivia, candid memoirs, and really great pointers you can actually implement in your life! Clearly, Joseph Darlington is a genuine James Bond aficionado, but he's also an excellent coach who will inspire and guide you along the way. =)
